Farmers Insurance Open Weather Report and Forecast

PGA golfer Brooks Koepka

We are headed to beautiful La Jolla, CA for the Farmers Insurance Open, where the weather is always great…and this tournament is no exception.

As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.

With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your DFS and sports betting picks.

Farmers Insurance Open Weather Forecast

Thursday, January 29th

Beautiful start to the tournament. Winds around 5 mph early morning and likely climbing a bit but settling in under 10 mph through the afternoon.

Friday, January 30th

Another great day. We’ll see the same pattern, with 5-mph early-morning winds and climbing to around 10-mph afternoon winds. There’s a chance we could mix in some stronger gusts up to 20 mph, but it’s still great weather for golf.

Saturday, January 31st

Same great weather continues – light winds maxing out between 5-10 mph.

Sunday, February 1st

Sunshine, warm temps, and light winds around 5-10 mph to close things out.

Farmers Insurance Open Weather Thoughts

Gotta love these Southern California golf tournaments – minimal weather issues as usual for the Farmers Insurance Open. I suppose if I were forced to pick a side, I have the slightest of leans to a Thursday PM / Friday AM draw, but I don’t think the weather here is significant enough to be a factor in your decision-making.
