MMA DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for UFC Fight Night – Moicano vs. Nolan

Who is your favorite fighter to spend up for in cash games?

Moneyball16: Smith
Bward586: Smith
LiamPicksFights: Smith

What are your thoughts about stacking the 5-round fight in cash games?

Moneyball16: It’s not awful to stack this one in cash, but it’s probably best to only play Renato Moicano. Tom Nolan has poor odds to win for his price. I am expecting a below-average pace in this fight, which has less than a 25% chance to go the full 5 rounds.

Bward586: I’m probably stacking this one more for lack of other options and a lack of strong conviction about who wins the fight than out of a belief that both fighters will score well. On the plus side, with the over/under set at 1.5 rounds, the winner almost certainly scores well, and by stacking you guarantee those points. With that said, if you have a stronger feeling than I do about who gets the win, picking a side is completely justifiable.

LiamPicksFights: I would rather play Moicano than Nolan in this matchup, but Bward586 makes a good point about trying to guarantee a strong score in a fight that is heavily favored to end inside the distance. The reason I don’t get to the stack is that Moicano’s high-scoring path to victory is predicated on top-side grappling, and that would limit Nolan’s scoring ability. Conversely, Nolan’s high-scoring path is an early KO, and that would kill off Moicano’s scoring ability.

What’s one rule/setting that you’re going to use in our MMA DFS optimizer (LineupHQ) or MMA DFS sims tool (SimLabs)?
