My Early Line Ups for Week 9
My Early Line Ups for Week 9
I visited FanDuel, FSL, DraftStreet, DraftZone, 365, and FantasyFactor to enter my initial line ups for week 9. I didn’t find much value discrepancy between sites this week – I pretty much like the same guys every where I look. That said, the different salary structures and point systems still lead to quite a bit of variance in my rosters. Read on if you want to win money in week 9!
QB
Vick is more expensive than I thought he would be on pretty much every site. DraftZone does have him at about 30% off the top QBs, but Roethlisberger is only $5000 so I went with him. Cutler is cheap on quite a few sites and I believe he’ll put up good stats coming off of bye against the Bills. If you want to splurge on QB, which I did a couple of times, Rivers will be a monster this week. Rodgers will be huge as well, but I didn’t find him cheap enough to choose over Rivers.
RB
I love Foster and Peterson this week and took them every where I could. McCoy is also attractive, but not discounted on many sites. For value I’m looking at Donald Brown. Hart is very questionable for week 9 and Addai is almost certainly out. If Hart plays it will be easy to switch him for Brown as they are priced similarly and cheaply on all sites.
WR
This is where I found my value this week. James Jones should be on the field for all two receiver sets vs Dallas this week. He put up a clunker last week, which will hopefully work to my advantage in these salary cap leagues. He is bargain basement cheap across the board and is on most of my teams. Patrick Crayton is no longer a bargain, but he’s not expensive and will one of Rivers’ primary weapons vs the weakest pass defense in the league. DeSean Jackson is a must-start on DraftZone, coming in at 50% off the top priced receiver. He’s not cheap enough anywhere else for me to choose him over the other studs, though. If you’re splurging at WR I rank the studs like so: Roddy White, Andre Johnson (watch the ankle), Hakeem Nicks, Anquan Boldin. Pierre Garcon had 11 targets last week. I consider him just a good of play as Reggie Wayne this week, but he’s significantly cheaper. He made my roster a couple of times.
TE
EDIT: Please disregard what I wrote here. Gates has plantar fasciatus and a bye in week 10. They’ll take it easy on him this week if he suits up at all. I’m going Tamme or Shincoe in every league.
Take Gates in every league physically possible. One of these weeks it’s going to hurt, but I don’t see how it could be this week vs. the Texans. I couldn’t afford him on FSL or 365 so I went with a cheap Visanthe Shiancoe on both sites. He was a beast pre-Moss so I’m hoping those game plans come back into the mix.
DEF and K:
Ryan Longwell and Kris Brown are both cheap on many sites. Longwell has not been a great play but the matchup vs the Cardinals is a good one. If you go with Kris Brown vs the Texans be sure to check Nate Kaeding’s status on Sunday morning. If you fill out a roster you like and have money to spare, then by all means grab Dan Carpenter. He’s in line for another big week against the Ravens. At Defense I often took the cheapest option I could find that wasn’t the Texans. The Bills vs Chicago for $10 is a must pick on FSL, imo. My top choices are the Giants, Saints, and Packers.
