This weekend, we head to Homestead-Miami for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship Race. The race is Friday night at 7:30 PM ET on FS1. Kaden Honeycutt leads Layne Riggs by 20 points heading into tonight. Last season was the first time since 2019 that the Truck Series ran at night here. Homestead is a unique 1.5-mile track with high tire wear. Drivers say you don’t run any other 1.5-mile track like Homestead. I use a little Darlington/Las Vegas data, but track history and practice will play a major role in lineup building for me this weekend. This is the same tire combo they’ve run here since 2022, and they used this tire code at Darlington last season. Over the last three races here, practice has shown a strong correlation with race speed.
