NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, December 22

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

Notorious: Joel Embiid is in the midst of an incredible run. He has scored at least 60 fantasy points in 12 straight games. During that stretch, he has topped 70 fantasy points six times.

squirrelpatrol: Looking at projected ownership as of the early afternoon, 4 of the top 5 players on FanDuel and 5 of the top 7 players on DraftKings are Dallas Mavericks, but the Mavs have the lowest implied team total on the slate by 3.5 points. The value should be there with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving out, but each Mavs player also costs a roster spot.

TastefulTides: According to CourtIQ, in an 89-minute sample with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic off the court, Jaden Hardy has a usage rate of 31.73%. Going back to last season, taking Luka, Kyrie, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Christian Wood off the court in a 240-minute sample, it is even higher (33.36% usage rate).

tcsmith031: Joel Embiid is now averaging 1.9 DK FP/minute on the season, which is utterly insane. He won MVP last season with a 1.64 FP/minute average, so he’s somehow found a way to level up yet again. For comparison, Nikola Jokic is “only” averaging 1.84 FP/minute on the season.

Bobby Gomes: Four Mavericks, Jaden Hardy, Tim Hardaway, Derrick Jones, and Grant Williams, are top 10 in FPTS/$. While their offensive rating is 6th in the league (mainly because of Luka Doncic), they also play at a top-12 pace. The Mavericks are +9.5 on the road, which can be beneficial for our thin, chalky Mavericks to play a ton and exceed our fantasy expectations.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
