NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, January 5

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

Notorious: We have the information slate on tap in the NFL this week, and I would call this the confusion slate for NBA. There are 14 games on the schedule, yet only the first 8 are on FanDuel’s main slate and only the first 11 are on DraftKings’ main slate. On top of that, there is a lot of injury news to monitor. If you have a busy afternoon like myself, I recommend narrowing your focus by playing on only one site. It’s usually pretty easy to manage multiple sites, but tonight seems like a headache. And we don’t need headaches heading into the weekend.

squirrelpatrol: There is a 45-point difference in the game totals for the highest-total game on the slate (IND/ATL at 262) and the lowest (MIN/HOU at 217).

eys819: Cheap value we can feel comfortable with is almost non-existent on both sites. The top 16 RG values on FD are above the average cost of a roster spot, and it is even worse on DK where the top 25 RG values are above the average cost of a roster spot. Maybe some injury news will open things up, but pricing is currently very tight.

tcsmith031: We’re dealing with a tiny 2-game sample, but the usage for OG Anunoby has dipped all the way to just 12.3% since joining the Knicks. Josh Hart (+5%) and Julius Randle (+2.3%) have seen usage bumps with Anunoby on the floor, however.

Bobby Gomes: The ATL/IND game has by far the highest game total on the slate (262). The Pacers have the highest implied team total (132.5), and the Hawks are 2nd (129.5). The Pacers are 1st in offensive rating, while the Hawks rank 5th. The Pacers are 2nd in pace, and the Hawks are 5th. With a tight spread (Pacers -3), we have another potential closely played track meet on our hands, making this the best game environment on the slate.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
