Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Week 18

Bills QB Allen

Week 18 brings us a clean split in our weekend games, with Saturday bringing some rain and Sunday bringing the cold air.

This NFL weather report will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 18 Weather Report and Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter/X @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my main weather page. A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Saturday, January 3rd

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Bucs – Scattered showers in the area all day. It’s tough to know the specifics of what will fall over the stadium versus what will fall near the stadium, but at the end of the day it’s just “a decent chance of rain.” Winds are manageable at 10mph.

Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers – Another game with rain around. I think it’s likely they see at least some rain, though again I’m short on specifics until closer to kickoff.

Sunday, January 4th

Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals – Temps around freezing, otherwise fine.

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants – Another game with temps near freezing, but no wind or precipitation concerns.

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots – Temps in the 20s, light winds, no precipitation.

Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears – Another cold game with no other issues, temps near freezing, light winds.

New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills – The only game with a chance of precipitation on Sunday. It’s cold (20s), winds are light, and some snow flurries or snow showers are possible, but I don’t expect any significant snow issues.

Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers – Cold, otherwise fine. Game time temps in the 20s.

How Will the Weather in Week 18 Affect Betting & Fantasy Football Picks?

The main concern is the potential rain in our Sunday games in Tampa and San Francisco. I won’t know the extent of the rain until closer to kickoff for both games, but I think both have a decent shot of at least seeing some rain in-game, and at times, it could be heavy. I don’t see any real concerns with the cold weather games on Sunday, mostly because there’s no wind concerns to go along with the cold.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter/X as we get closer to kickoff.
