NHL Daily Plays: Sunday, November 23rd
Make sure to check the start times on the games you’re playing today. There is a 4-game slate, but one game is at 4:30 EST. The other three start at the normal time of 7 EST.
FanDuel GPPs are not including the one early game, but DraftKings is, so be sure to double check all of your sites.
Goalies
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to puck-drop
Frederik Andersen – Anaheim Ducks – The Ducks come into this game with the most points in the dominant Western Conference. The Arizona Coyotes come into town in poor spirits, as they continue their disappointing season thus far, and I expect that to continue tonight – I see the Ducks rolling them tonight. Andersen comes into this game only allowing 2.13 goals per game and some sites just refuse to raise his price. Coming in at $6,400 on DraftKings, he is your play of the day.
If you play on a site with the early game, consider Jake Allen as well. The Blues are just on fire right now and he should have no problem picking up those valuable points for the win.
Centers
Derick Brassard – New York Rangers – The Rangers are expected to face Dustin Tokarski in net for Montreal. While Tokarski has been good this season, I am not a full believer, as he has only appeared in five games. Rangers coach Alain Vigneault decided to change the skating lines last game and has Brassard skating with Zuccarello and Rick Nash. Those wingers are full of talent and should open things up nicely for Brassard and the discounted price that comes with. Brassard is still getting time with the top power play unit, which is a huge deal in a game that should feature lower scoring.
Jori Lehtera – St. Louis Blues – This is only if you are playing the early contests Lehtera and his line mates are on fire. He has at least one point in 8 of his last 9 games, and on many sites the price is way too low. Take advantage while you still can and ride the lightning.
Wing
Patrick Kane – Chicago Blackhawks – Kane has goals in 3 of his last 4 games and is starting to heat up. He is one of the best players in the world and is still available for a more than reasonable price. It won’t be long until he is priced with the very best, but until that time take advantage. Chicago has split Kane and Toews to different skating lines, which means Kane often gets to see the opposing teams’ second defensive pair.
Patrick Maroon – Anaheim Ducks – Maroon has a price on DraftKings that you simply can’t pass on. Coming in at only $3,000 and skating with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzalf on both the team’s top line and top power play unit, the value here is just a steal. I will play him in every matchup at this price. This is a great way to benefit from Perry and Getzalf scoring for less than half of the price.
Defense
Cam Fowler – Anaheim Ducks – Fowler is an offensive-minded defenseman, which is great for DFS purposes. Cam gets power play time with the top unit and Arizona has the worst penalty kill of the teams that play today. This is something often overlooked on these short game slates, but it is crucial for your daily fantasy success.
Dan Boyle – New York Rangers – This is another play that is a great value on DraftKings, as Boyle is coming in at $3,300 and getting the top power play minutes against a somewhat unproven goalie. I expect most of the goals in this game to come from the power play, and so I am going to target it heavily.
