NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, December 27

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

TastefulTides: Auston Matthews – The Ottawa Senators allow the 5th-most goals per game and have the 2nd-worst penalty kill in all of hockey. That is a recipe for disaster playing on the road against Matthews. He was in a bit of a slump earlier in the season, but we all knew that wouldn’t last long. He has goals in 7 straight games and 2 goals in 5 of those 7 games. He is aggressively priced on both sites, but with the size of this slate, there are plenty of value options to choose from. So it’s not difficult to fit him in.

boggslite: Auston Matthews – Currently in the midst of a seven-game scoring streak, Matthews should get plenty of opportunities to stay hot tonight facing a weak Ottawa Senators team that lacks the talent defensively to slow him down. Also featured on the top power-play unit, Matthews should be very active on the man advantage against a Senators PK that ranks 31st in the NHL this season.

Joda: Auston Matthews – His goal-scoring streak is at 7 games, and Ottawa is unlikely to slow him down as their penalty kill rate is a league-worst 72.3%. Matthews’ floor seems to be five shots and he has multi-goal upside every time he laces up the skates.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
