NHL DFS Picks: Slate Summary for Tuesday, April 16th
Slate Overview
Last night was off to a pretty rough start given that about 50% of it was depending on the Red Wings, who were down 4-2 in the 3rd period. Then lightning struck three times with Alex Debrincat and Lucas Raymond (x2) bringing the picks back from the grave. In the end, Raymond was the star of the show, with 30+ DK points for $4,400. I’m recapping in detail not to brag on myself but to mention that these same two teams will be meeting again tonight. That means much of what was true yesterday is true today, so I’m not going to reinvent the wheel. I’ll update as needed for the write-ups for similar players, as things might have changed slightly.
The biggest bombshell that has dropped so far today is that the Hurricanes will be resting almost their entire roster against the Blue Jackets. They have nothing to play for and are clearly prioritizing rest. It’s tough to know exactly who benefits. There were some speculative lines posted in the RotoGrinders Discord, but I’d take them all with the world’s biggest grain of salt. There could be more news like that coming throughout the day, so stay tuned in the Discord channel.

Jack Eichel
DraftKings $8,600
There’s no one in the same stratosphere that Connor McDavid was in last night. He was a near cant-miss, and I don’t quite feel that way with Auston Matthews tonight. The matchup against the Panthers is a tough one. So Jack Eichel is my preferred option at the top. He has 9 points in his last 6 games and gets arguably the best matchup on the slate, a home game against the Blackhawks. The $1,600 savings over someone like Matthews or $1,000 over David Pastrnak isn’t insignificant and can be used to upgrade your lineup.
