Noto's NFL DFS Core Plays: Week 6
Week 5 Recap
As always, we will start with a recap of last week. Based strictly on the core plays — Henry, Mattison, and Adams on DK with Henry, Mattison, Adams, and Lamb, you would think Week 5 would have been my own personal printing press. All four of those players had big games and while they were popular, it was hard to build a construction around them that didn’t cash. My hope is that many out there took my advice and played Jalen Hurts or Dak Prescott with those four. For whatever reason, I liked my build DraftKings build a little better with Daniel Jones at quarterback (moved up from Ricky Seals-Jones to Mike Gesicki) and for whatever reason, I liked my FanDuel build a little better with Daniel Jones at quarterback.
My, oh, my.
I was essentially waiting for my payout at the DFS cashier when I saw Jones try a bootleg at the goal line. It was clear right from the start that he wasn’t going to beat those two defenders to the endzone. I suppose he deserves some props for trying to score there, but he took a massive hit and it was clear from the second he tried to stand up that he had suffered concussion. This killed all my momentum and I ultimately ended up bubbling (finishing just outside of the cash line) in all of my contests on DraftKings. I was still able to finish in the top 5% of FanDuel tournaments, but it felt like more of a consolation prize given the fact that Mike Glennon came in and had a nice second half in the place of Jones. We always think about what could have been, but everyone will be on the wrong side of injuries over the course of the season.
I still lived to fight another week, which is really all I can ask for. We move on.
