There are only two events left in the 2018-29 season and plenty on the line. The top 70 (actually 69 since Kevin Na withdrew) will compete this week for a shot to head to East Lake for the Tour Championship. Only the top 30 in the FedExCup standings will move on to the finale. Generally, the top 25 are pretty safe, so there are only a handful of spots up for grabs. Patrick Reed made the most of his opportunity last week, picking up a win at the Northern Trust and vaulting all the way up to second in the FedExCup standings. The placement is extremely important, as the tour is implementing the FedExCup Starting Strokes for the Tour Championship where each golfer will start with a score relative to par that corresponds with his FedExCup points. In other words, those high up in the standings will start with a lead.
