Sports Card Targets - 2018 Draft Class Players Not Named Luka or Trae Pt 2

Panini owns the exclusive rights to NBA cards and within the Panini family Prizm and Optic are considered 1a and 1b while Select is considered to be the 3rd most popular set. If you’re looking for the ultra high end product then National Treasures is what you want to collect.

Just like DFS, be sure to manage your bankroll and don’t spend more than what your budget allows. Make sure you pay attention to the grading when looking at recommendations. Grading makes a huge difference in price, so price targets will be based on grading. An ungraded card is referred to as “raw”. When targeting a Raw card, try to find one with the best centering, corners and edges (and surface if you can tell) as that is a card that might be worth sending in for grading. We’ll use SportsCardInvestor’s Market Movers data to evaluate current-market price targets based on what people have been paying most recently. Go above/below that market rate based on your convictions and confidence levels by player. We’ll use SportsCardInvestor’s Price Movements list and Market Movers tools to evaluate our price targets. 2018 Draft Class Players not named Luka or Trae: Part 2

Here are 3 players from the 2018 draft class not named Luka or Trae that I’m looking at and some accompanying current cards for sale on eBay through our eBay affiliate partnership:

3) Kevin Huerter – This is a bit of a homer pick for me as Huerter grew up around me and I watched him play in high school. With that said though, he has a bright NBA future and could very well be Trae Youngs backcourt mate for years to come. Huerter is a terrific shooter, very good passer and adept rebounder. He can guard multiple positions and should improve more at that once he matures into his body. If the Hawks improve and start to content for playoff spots then Huerter should be one of the reasons why. I believe he is a prime candidate for buy low as I believe in his ability and he could have a breakout year 3.

2018-19 Panini Prizm Silver #68 Kevin Huerter RC Rookie PSA 10 – Target under $50

2018-19 National Treasures #125 Kevin Huerter RC Patch Auto RPA #d /99 – Target Raw under $300

2018-19 Donruss Optic KEVIN HUERTER RATED ROOKIE #184 SILVER HOLO – Target Raw under $5

2) Collin Sexton – Sexton’s career started out historically bad on an analytics basis. His shot selection was terrible, he was playing point and averaging less than 3 assists per game and his teammates were calling him out in the media. He slowly turned it around during his rookie year and made the All-Rookie 2nd Team. His 2nd year has been much better as well. His shot selection has improved which has also improved his shooting percentage to 47%. His explosiveness and ability to get to the rim also gets him to the foul line a lot where he shoots over 80%. He very well could be one of the leading scorers in the league within the next few seasons. Scorers and three point shooters are the guys we want to invest in as we know from previous trends and other cards/players. This makes Sexton a good buy in my eyes for a longer term hold.

2018 Panini Donruss Optic #180 Collin Sexton Cavaliers PSA 10 – Target under $50

1) Michael Porter Jr. – Porter Jr’s prices are more based on hype at the moment but he has shown some incredible flashes this season. I believe the Nuggets will take the reigns off of Porter Jr. next season and we could see a huge breakout season. Porter Jr. has all of the tools to be an all-star and potential superstar. He’s an athletic wing that can throw down highlight dunks and shoot the three. He has also shown no lingering signs of the back issues that cost him his first season in the league. He will enter his third NBA season at only 22 years old and I think the sky is the limit for the former #1 high school prospect for his class.
