Sports Card Targets - 2018 Draft Class Players Not Named Luka or Trae Pt 3

Panini owns the exclusive rights to NBA cards and within the Panini family Prizm and Optic are considered 1a and 1b while Select is considered to be the 3rd most popular set. If you’re looking for the ultra high end product then National Treasures is what you want to collect. Make sure you pay attention to the grading when looking at recommendations. Grading makes a huge difference in price, so price targets will be based on grading. An ungraded card is referred to as “raw”. We’ll use SportsCardInvestor’s Price Movements list and Market Movers tools to evaluate our price targets. Here are 3 players from the 2018 draft class not named Luka or Trae that I’m looking at and some accompanying current cards for sale on eBay through our eBay affiliate partnership:

3) Donte DiVincenzo – Some of the initial thoughts on DiVincenzo were that he was over drafted based on his huge NCAA Championship game. He then struggled during his rookie year both on the court and with injury. His sophomore season has been much better and he has even started 22 games. He improved in pretty much all aspects of his game by averaging 9 points 5 rebounds and 2 assists. He has some flashiness to his game which collectors love and he should be in line to start next season at shooting guard. If the Bucks make a deep run in the soon to be restarted NBA season then we could see a nice bump in DiVincenzo’s prices.

Cards to Target:

6-5-20Donte

2018 Panini Prizm Donte DiVincenzo Rookie Silver PSA 10 RC – Target under $130

2018-19 National Treasures Donte DiVincenzo RPA RC Rookie Patch AUTO /99 – Target Raw under $600

Donte DiVincenzo 2018-19 Optic HOLO Silver RC PSA 10 – Target under $60

2) Deandre Ayton – There are so many good prospects in 2018 that it took me to part 3 to talk about the #1 pick. That’s not a knock on Ayton either as he has been very good. He only played 30 games so far because of suspension but in those 30 games he’s averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds and nearly 2 blocks. His prices are hurt because bigs don’t usually garner the same prices as wings/guards and the Suns have not been good. If they can turn it around and build around Ayton and Booker then Ayton should be a good long term hold. He projects to be one of the better bigs in the league and a potential all star for years to come.

Cards to Target:

6-5-20Ayton

2018-19 Panini Prizm Silver #279 DeAndre Ayton Phoenix Suns RC Rookie PSA 10 – Target under $150

2018-19 National Treasures Deandre Ayton RC 3CLR Patch AUTO /99 Autograph RPA – Target Raw under $900

2018 Panini Donruss Optic Holo Rookie DeAndre Ayton PSA 10 – Target under $150

1) Devonte’ Graham – Graham was the sleeper of last offseason and a lot of people profited off of his hot start. His prices have come down some since then but his prizm silvers are still priced similar to Ayton and DiVincenzo. Graham’s shooting percentages certainly need to improve but despite the poor shooting slump he was still by far the Hornets best player. He also has the type of game that collectors/investors love. A flashy scoring guard that can pass and shoot a bunch of threes. I think there is some risk given that his prices have already risen from last season and his poor shooting but if he can improve the shooting then there is still room for growth in his cards.

Cards to Target:

6-5-20Graham

2018-19 Prizm DEVONTEGRAHAM SILVER Prizm Rookie PSA 10 – Target under $130

2018-19 NATIONAL TREASURES RPA DEVONTEGRAHAM RC AUTO PATCH /99 – Target Raw under $650
