The Most and Least Single NFL Fanbases | RotoGrinders
There are many differentiating factors between the various NFL fanbases, from loyalty and passion to favored half-time snacks. But one you may not have considered is the likeliest relationship status of each franchise’s supporters!
Fortunately, we’ve done the digging to unearth where you’re most and least likely to find single and available football fans.
Using analytics tool HypeAuditor, our team’s reviewed the latest social media data, to determine the relationship status of NFL football fans; to officially work out which teams are most supported by singletons, and those that are backed by married couples.
Which NFL franchises have the highest rate of single fans?

Taking top spot as the NFL’s ‘most single fanbase’, we have supporters of the Cincinnati Bengals. In fact, a whopping 58.2% of Bengals fans are unmarried – compared to the league average of 55.28% – while those of alternative Ohio franchise, the Cleveland Browns, score 55.2%.
Behind the Bengals, we have fans of the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys, with 57.4% and 57.1% of supporters considered to be single. Curiously, the Cowboys aren’t the only Texan team to feature among our top ten, though; the Houston Texans place 6th with a reported 56.1% of fans identifying as single.
In fourth and fifth, we head to the east coast, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots recording rates of 56.9% and 56.5%, respectively. Meanwhile, just trailing the Texans, 56% of Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars fans are unmarried, closely followed by the Baltimore Ravens (55.8%) and Atlanta Falcons (55.6%).
The NFL divisions with the highest rate of single fans
We’ve delved into the specific teams with the highest rate of unmarried fans, but what about when we look at things from a conference and division perspective?
Well, we can reveal that supporters of teams competing in the American Football Conference (55.5%) are more single than those of the National Football Conference (55%) – if only marginally so! This comes as 6 of the 10 most single fanbases compete in the AFC, including 3 of the top 5.
Breaking down the data, the AFC North is officially the most single NFL division, with 56.53% of fans here identifying as unpartnered, followed by supporters of teams competing in the AFC East (55.45%) and AFC South (55.33%). Meanwhile, our research suggests the NFC West is the most single National Football Conference division (55.3%), and the only one where the average rate of supporter single-ness is above the NFL average!
Which NFL franchises have the most married fans?
In contrast, which NFL teams can claim to be supported by the highest rate of married fans? Digging into the data, we can reveal that the Philadelphia Eagles officially have the highest number of wedded supporters – 39.7% of the fanbase, in fact (the NFL average is 38.1% – which is below the estimated US average of 47.3%). Does this make them the most committed? Who’s to say…
On the other hand, Pennsylvania’s other team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, are serially single, ranking 29th on this list!
Next up, the San Francisco 49ers have the second-highest rate of wedded supporters – a remarkable 39.5% – followed by the Green Bay Packers (39.4%) and Minnesota Vikings (38.9%), while the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins (both 38.7%) round out the top five. Placing joint 7th on our list, 38.6% of supporters for the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, and Seattle Seahawks have tied the knot. The Chiefs, Giants, and Titans (all 38.5%) each just miss out on a top ten spot.
The NFL divisions with the highest rate of married fans
As for the results by conference, teams in the NFC (38.24%) have a higher rate of married supporters than those competing in the AFC (37.96%), helped along by the top four highest-ranking franchises being based across the National Football Conference; and a further couple featuring in positions 1-10.
At a division level, despite the wider American Football Conference bringing the average down, interestingly, you’re most likely to find married fans in the AFC West – with 38.53% of supporters here wedded. Following, the NFC North and East divisions have a married-fan rate of 38.5% and 38.28%, respectively, while the AFC East places fourth (38.2%) – just ahead of the NFC South and NFC West, which boasts an exactly-average number of spoken for supporters (38.1%).
So, there we have it – Cincinnati Bengals fans are least likely to be in a relationship, while married supporters are most inclined to follow the Eagles. And if you’re looking for a last-minute Valentine, there’s plenty of fish in the AFC North…
