Legend for Varncass’ Daily Batter Breakdown Statistics
- OPSL7 – On Base + Slugging Percentage for Batter over Past 7 Games. On base percentage is formed by adding walks and hits divided by at bats. Slugging is total bases divided by at bats.
- BABIP – Batting Average on Balls In Play. A Sabermetric stat developed to remove strikeouts and home runs from batting average and is a good measure of how much ‘luck’ a batter has had on batted balls in play.
- wOBA – Weighted On Base Average. Accounts for various hitting situations and is a more perfected stat for on base percentage.
- PARK – Ballpark rating for the given batter that day. A higher ballpark rating (above 1) is beneficial towards hitters.
- SP-ERA L7 – Opposing Starting Pitchers ERA over the last 7 days.
- vs L/R – Hitter’s Batting Average against Left or Right Handed Pitching. Based on opposing Starting Pitcher for that day.
