Alexis Ajinca Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
E'Twaun Moore (ankle) questionable Tuesday
Moore missed the last game and he's questionable for tonight's matchup with the Lakers. Anthony Davis (rest) and DeMarcus Cousin (Achilles) have already been ruled out. If Moore is unable to go, the Pelicans will likely roll with the same starting five as their last game - Jrue Holiday, Tim Frazier, Solomon Hill, Dante Cunningham, and Alexi Ajinca. Holiday will likely see reduced minutes, so he's a risky bet despite the favorable matchup. New Orleans is pretty set on getting their young guys some time on the court. Ajinca, Cheick Diallo, and Quinn Cook are all interesting value plays who have performed well in their limited opportunities this season. Jordan Crawford should see plenty of minutes as well. He's been hot lately, making 18-of-32 shots over the past two nights, dropping at least 20 points in each. Roughly 75% of his fantasy production comes from scoring, but Los Angeles allows the fourth-highest shooting percentage from deep (37.1%) and the highest field goal percentage overall (48.3%).
Alexis Ajinca and Dante Cunningham will start for Pelicans in place of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis
Cousins (Achilles) and Davis (rest) were ruled earlier today as New Orleans will take it easy on their stars the rest of the way. Ajinca is a very appealing value option tonight as he should get plenty of time on the court and he's produced 0.87 DK ppm this season. New Orleans is trying to develop some of their young guys, so look for Check Diallo as well. He was excellent in the D-League all year and he's been productive on a per-minute basis in the limited time he's had in the NBA with the Pelicans. Jordan Crawford is probably the safer option among the value plays, he should have plenty of scoring opportunities tonight.
DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles), Anthony Davis (knee), and E'Twaun Moore (ankle) all ruled OUT for Pelicans Saturday
Not too surprising after New Orleans announced they would take it easy on their stars the rest of the season. Cousins also missed last game. Jrue Holiday would normally pick up the slack here but may be limited tonight. New Orleans has expressed their interest in seeing what Cheick Diallo and Quinn Cook can do, so expect plenty of run from them tonight. Diallo has averaged nearly one fantasy point per minute over 14 appearances with the Pelicans this season, although he only averaged 8.3 mpg across those contests. Jordan Crawford is another great value play, he should pick up plenty of usage and come out firing. Center Alexis Ajinca is another guy to watch out for, he's produced at least 27 DraftKings points in three of the four games he's played for at least 25 minutes.
Alexis Ajinca (hip) expected to be available to play tonight
Ajinca is expected to be available to play in tonight's game against the Chicago Bulls after previously being listed as questionable on the Pelicans' injury report with a hip injury that forced him to miss the Pelicans previous game. With Ajinca likely to suit up, Donatas Motiejunas will relinquish the backup center role behind both DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis to Ajinca with Omer Asik officially sidelined for the remainder of the season. Ajinca does not see significant playing time when both Cousins and Davis are healthy, so he will not see enough minutes to become fantasy relevant on Sunday's slate.

If Ajinca is unable to suit up, Donatas Motiejunas will likely step into the backup center role behind both DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis with Omer Asik officially sidelined for the remainder of the season, but only saw 3 minutes of action in Friday's contest. Ajinca does not see significant playing time when both Cousins and Davis are healthy, so Motiejunas is unlikely to see enough minutes to become fantasy relevant on Sunday's slate should Ajinca be ruled out.

Solomon Hill starting over Alexis Ajinca tonight
Hill will be inserted into the starting lineup for tonight's game against the Dallas Mavericks, sending Alexis Ajinca to the bench to assume a reserve role. This is purely a matchup-based lineup change made by Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry to counteract the Mavericks' small-ball starting unit with Dirk Nowitzki at center and Harrison Barnes at power forward. Hill still remains irrelevant in daily fantasy, while his insertion into the starting five does not effect the projected fantasy outlook of any other Pelicans players.
Alexis Ajinca (shoulder) is expected to play tonight
Ajinca will be available to play in tonight's game against Charlotte after being listed as questionable earlier in the day. He had previously missed Friday's game against the Trail Blazers with the same left shoulder injury. Anjinca hasn't been a major factor in the Pelicans rotation with Anthony Davis, Terrence Jones, and Omer Asik soaking up a majority of the minutes available at center. His availability in this game does little to affect the fantasy value of anyone in the Pelicans' rotation, as he has averaged just 13.4 minutes per game this season.
