Alshon Jeffery Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Alshon Jeffery inactive tonight
Alshon Jeffery is inactive tonight and is a healthy scratch. In addition to Jeffery, the Eagles are also missing Miles Sanders, Dallas Goedert and DeSean Jackson. That obviously opens up opportunity, but predicting the targets beyond Jalen Reagor gets tricky.
Alshon Jeffery active Sunday; J.J. Arcega-Whiteside inactive
Alshon Jeffery is active Sunday and will make his 2020 season debut. With his return, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside is a healthy inactive. Arcega-Whiteside has had a very disappointing season, and being a healthy scratch is a new low point for the 2019 2nd round draft pick.
Alshon Jeffery (calf) will be available to play Sunday
Jeffery was able to practice in full all three days once again, and he'll reportedly be active and available to play in Sunday's Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants for the first time all season after dealing with calf and foot injuries over the course of the first eight games. However, with the emergence of Travis Fulgham and promising flashes from Jalen Reagor, it appears extremely unlikely Jeffery will assume a substantial role in the offense, especially in his first week back as head coach Doug Pederson already disclosed to reporters on Zoom that the team plans to ease him back into game action following nearly a full year absence. Jeffery obviously isn't in consideration for daily fantasy formats this weekend, but his presence, along with the return of Miles Sanders, could be enough to lower the projected median value of players like Fulgham, Reagor, and Dallas Goedert.
DeSean Jackson (hamstring) will play Thursday night; Alshon Jeffery (foot) remains out
Jackson still hasn't put in a full practice after being limited in Tuesday's session, but head coach Doug Pederson still believes that Jackson will be ready to go for Thursday night's Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants despite still recovering from a hamstring injury that's kept him sidelined for three straight games. Meanwhile, Jeffery is set to be inactive once again and it's beginning to feel like the Eagles are in no rush to have him active on gamedays with the emergence of Travis Fulgham and rookie Jalen Reagor on track to return in one of the next few games. Even though Jackson will likely be active, it's almost guaranteed that he will be eased back into action and won't see a full complement of snaps with Jon Hightower flashing serviceable downfield ability over the last couple of weeks
DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Alshon Jeffery (foot) remain out for Week 6
Jackson was limited in practice all three days this week, but the Eagles have opted to be cautious with their veteran wideout, and he has officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens due to a nagging hamstring injury. Additionally, Alshon Jeffery’s activation from injured reserve will be delayed at least one additional week as he continues to get acclimated following offseason foot surgery, and this will allow Travis Fulgham and John Hightower to continue handling a majority of the reps at the outside wide receiver positions. Fulgham saw 86.5% of snaps and commanded a 36.1% market share of the targets from quarterback Carson Wentz in this past Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, so he'll continue to be a fine option in daily fantasy formats on this weekend's slates, though Hightower may be a viable pivot in tournaments after racking up 41% of the team's air yards in their Week 5 contest.
Alshon Jeffery (illness, foot) won't play Sunday
Jeffery was limited in practice to begin the week, but he's been away from the team for the past two days and will not play in Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a non-COVID illness. The news of this ailment will delay Jeffery's activation from injured reserve at least one additional week and will allow Travis Fulgham and John Hightower to receive reps on the outside at wide receiver opposite of DeSean Jackson, who is questionable himself with a hamstring injury. Fulgham saw 64.3% of snaps, ran 21 routes, and was more productive on the field than Hightower in last Sunday night's win despite the limited opportunity, so it would be far from surprising if he gets the first crack at Jeffery's role in the offense this week with Hightower serving as the backup at both wideout positions if Jackson is cleared to suit up this weekend.
DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and Alshon Jeffery (foot) won't play Sunday night; JJ Arcega-Whiteside (calf) doubtful
Jackson, Jeffery, and Arcega-Whiteside didn't participate in practice all week, and they've officially been ruled out of Sunday night's Week 4 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers due to their respective ailments. This means that Greg Ward and John Hightower are the only wide receivers on the Eagles active roster to practice today with Jalen Reagor still on injured reserve. However, rookie Quez Watkins hasn't technically been ruled out after having his 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve activated earlier in the week and could make his NFL debut, while Deontay Burnett, Travis Fulgham, and Marcus Green are available to be recalled from the practice squad at any time. Regardless, Ward, Zach Ertz, and Miles Sanders will be top pass-catchers for quarterback Carson Wentz in this weekend's contest.
DeSean Jackson (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (foot), and JJ Arcega-Whiteside (calf) don't practice Thursday
Jackson, Jeffery, and Arcega-Whiteside didn't participate in practice for a second consecutive day, and they'll likely need to at least put in a limited session on Friday to be able to play in Sunday night's Week 4 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers despite battling their respective ailments. This means that Greg Ward was the only wide receiver on the Eagles active roster to practice today with Jalen Reagor still on injured reserve, though Quez Watkins hasn't been ruled out after having his 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve activated earlier in the week, and Deontay Burnett, Travis Fulgham, and Marcus Green are available to be recalled from the practice squad at any time. Additionally, John Hightower was also missing from practice on Thursday, but with no designation given on the practice report, it appears likely he'll fine to be one of the top two receivers for Carson Wentz if Jackson and Jeffery are unable to suit up this weekend.
Eagles Promote Robert Davis to the Active Roster, Place Alshon Jeffery on Injured Reserve
The Eagles promoted WR Robert Davis to the active roster and placed Alshon Jeffery on injured reserve. Davis will be at the bottom of the WR depth chart, but he may still have a role given the injuries at WR for the Eagles.
Alshon Jeffery Out for the Rest of the Season
The exact injury isn't clear, but Jeffery suffered a non-contact foot injury in the Eagles last game. His season is expected to be over. This is yet another injury for a banged up Eagles WR group.
