Luis Scola waived by Brooklyn Nets

Scola's contract was due to expire at the end of the season and this move will give him a chance to provide a veteran presence for a playoff team. Justin Hamilton should benefit the most immediately for Brooklyn.

Trevor Booker OUT for Nets tonight

The Nets have ruled out their starting forward due to illness for their game against Cleveland tonight. It's hard to figure out who benefits the most from this news. Justin Hamilton will likely get the start but he was ineffective the last time he had this opportunity and it's a tough match up in a game that likely will see the Nets blown out. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Luis Scola, and Quincy Acy all stand to see more run in this situation with Hollis-Jefferson having the most upside and viability of that group.

Trevor Booker (illness) will not play Friday vs. the Cavs.

Justin Hamilton started in place of Booker last week, but scored just six points in 24 minutes in that start. Luis Scola and Quincy Acy should also see some extra minutes on Friday. This is a situation to avoid from a fantasy perspective.

Trevor Booker (hip) questionable; Jeremy Lin (hamstring) out for Tuesday

Trevor Booker is dealing with a hip injury and is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Hawks. Since the Nets waived Anthony Bennet, it's possible that Luis Scola returns to the starting lineup. Jeremy Lin continues to be out for the Nets and no update has been given regarding his status. Look for another update regarding the Nets tomorrow.

Luis Scola confirmed as the starter in place of Brook Lopez

Scola will draw the start at center for tonight's game against the Toronto Raptors in place of the resting Brook Lopez. Additionally, Jeremy Lin will also officially return to the Nets' starting lineup after previously playing limited minutes off the bench for Brooklyn. It does still remain to be seen if Lin will see his minute workload increased this evening with Isaiah Whitehead already ruled out. With Lopez also ruled out for rest, Lin will definitively be the focal point of the offense in the starting unit, though he carries extra risk given the probable blowout.

Brook Lopez will not play (rest) on Tuesday for Brooklyn

Lopez will get an unexpected day off tomorrow - typically we'd think Justin Hamilton would benefit but he's not played much of late so it'll likely be Anthony Bennett and Luis Scola who benefit the most in terms of minutes.

Justin Hamilton (illness) ruled out for tonight

Justin Hamilton will miss his second consecutive game due to migraines. He was not making a huge DFS impact to begin with and his minutes will likely go to Trevor Booker or Luis Scola. Since the Nets got blown out by the Spurs in their previous game we were not able to see a full rotation. Since they are large underdogs against the Rockets tonight, it's possible that Booker sees under 30 minutes again tonight. Booker was playing extremely well before his last game and they will need him to perform well to stay in this game.

Justin Hamilton confirmed as the starter in place of Brook Lopez

Justin Hamilton was the projected start in place of Brook Lopez. He does not provide much outside of scoring but since he has a pretty cheap salary across the industry he should be able to exceed value. Luis Scola and Trevor Booker also should see a bump in value due to the absence of Lopez

Brook Lopez will not play tonight for Brooklyn

The Nets are going to rest their starting center tonight against the Clippers. Justin Hamilton and Luis Scola will both receiver larger roles and are in consideration as value options at their respective positions. Trevor Booker was already receiving considerable run but should see all the playing time he can handle. DeAndre Jordan should have no problem dominating the Nets front court and makes for an excellent play in GPP's, although there are obvious blow out concerns with this game.

Jonas Valanciunas (ankle) to miss rest of Round 2

Valanciunas injured his ankle in Game 2 but hurt it once again, late in Game 3. Valanciunas will not play the rest of the series against the Heat and another update will be provided if the Raptors move on. Bismack Biyombo will get the start at center on Monday and should be considered an elite option with Hassan Whiteside also likely out. Biyombo averaged 27.40 fpts in 22 starts this season and should be able to exceed value with his salary at punt levels across the industry. Luis Scola got back into the rotation on Saturday and will also see more minutes after not playing in the five contests prior to Game 3. Scola is a low-end option that does not carry much risk with his salary at $2k on DraftKings, which could help differentiate in tournaments.

Patrick Patterson replaces Luis Scola in the starting lineup

Patterson will start against the Pacers and Luis Scola will be playing off the bench. Patterson averaged 23.25 DraftKings fpts in the two games in Toronto so far in this series and should be considered an elite punt option for this game. This will be Patterson's first start of the season so expect him to come out looking to make an impact. Expect Patterson to play 30+ minutes as he did in the Game 2 victory. Scola is not a viable option off the bench and should be removed from any lineups that contain him.
