Matt Forte Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Matt Forte (knee) placed on IR, ruled out for Sunday

Forte has officially been placed on injured reserve and will not play in tomorrow's game against the Ne England Patriots after previously being listed as questionable on the New York Jets' injury report with a nagging knee injury that has troubled him all season long. To fill Forte's spot on the active roster, the Jets promoted Jahad Thomas from the practice squad, and he'll be active to serve as the third-string running back behind Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire on Sunday afternoon. Theoretically, this is a great matchup for Powell and McGuire against the Patriots and their 32nd-ranked rush defense DVOA, but the Jets are still massive road underdogs, a game environment that historically doesn't bode well for running backs, especially ones that are in a full-blown timeshare for snaps and touches out of the backfield.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins doubtful, and Matt Forte questionable

Even if both players somehow suit up and play this week, neither player should be considered in terms of DFS roster spot. The Jets should once again struggle with Bryce Petty under center and the team has a tough matchup against a Patriots team that should be motivated to play well and get a win. Forte has struggled to rush for more than 25 yards in a game since week 13, and his presence in the offense only takes snaps away from other appealing options in the backfield. Seferian-Jenkins is now doubtful for the season finale, thus making it that much harder for the Jets to score points with Petty as their quarterback. Seferian-Jenkins if healthy is always a threat to score points in the red zone, but with an implied team total of 13.5, the Jets are not expected to put up much of a fight against the Patriots in Week 17.

Matt Forte and Elijah McGuire are both expected to play this week

The Jets backfield will be at full strength this week in terms of available players, and can now safely be avoided in terms of our DFS rosters. Banged up all week, both McGuire and Forte are active and should see their normal rolls in the offense this week.

Both Elijah McGuire and Matt Forte are questionable for Sunday but expected to play

Both Elijah McGuire ( illness) and Matt Forte (knee) are listed as questionable on the injury report but are expected to play Sunday against the Chargers. The only real interest in playing anyone in this backfield would occur if both McGuire and Forte were to both unable to suit up on Sunday. If both players were to miss then Bilal Powell would become a very good source of value on Christmas Eve. Forte has missed multiple days of practice this year during the week and has still been able to suit up and play.

Both Elijah McGuire ( illness) and Matt Forte (knee) miss practice today but both are tentatively expected to suit up Sunday against the Chargers. Matt Forte (knee) active Sunday

Forte is active and will play in today's game against the New Orleans Saints after previously being listed as questionable on the New York Jets' injury report with a knee injury. The Jets are massive underdogs in Sunday's matchup and Forte is a part of a full-blown three-running back committee, making him, Bilal Powell, and Elijah McGuire all irrelevant for daily fantasy formats in Week 15.

Matt Forte questionable for Sunday

The Jets injury news for week 15 has been downright awful. In addition to losing starting quarterback Josh McCown, the team could potentially be down to one by Sunday. Two of the three featured backs in the Jets backfield found themselves on the injury report this week. Matt Forte did not practice at all on Thursday is listed questionable ahead of Friday's practice. Elijah McGuire practiced in a limited role on Thursday and we are still awaiting his status for this weeks game. If both backs were to miss this week, Bilal Powell would be in play as a feature back at just $4000 on DraftKings. But if either Forte or McGuire can suit up, the value diminishes quickly due to the fact that carries will be split. Regardless of the injury situation, the matchup vs the Saints is not one in which you are excited about attacking, but a $4,000 Powell with all the carries does merit some tournament consideration.

Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) officially active Sunday

Forte will suit up for today's game against the Denver Broncos after previously being listed as questionable on the New York Jets' injury report with a knee injury. He's seen double-digit carries in each of his last three games, but Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire are also heavily involved in the Jets' backfield, essentially relegating the situation to a full-blown timeshare. Forte's price is suppressed around the industry but his floor and ceiling significantly suffer when both Powell and McGuire are healthy and active. Not only that, but the running back trio draws a difficult matchup with a Broncos squad that ranks 2nd in rush defense DVOA on the season.
