Thomas Robinson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Ivica Zubac (right ankle sprain) will miss the remainder of the season
Zubac suffered a high ankle sprain in last night's loss to the Timberwolves. Tarik Black could take over the starting center role and Thomas Robinson would be used as his backup. Black does not possess elite upside and this injury could open the door for Larry Nance to start in the near future. Luke Walton has mentioned that he would like to get Nance some reps as a starter and this is setting up in his favor. Considering Saturday's game is against the Clippers, it's more likely that we see Tarik Black start the game.
Larry Nance (wrist) and Ivica Zubac (quad) both probable for Thursday
Larry Nance was able to play 20 minutes against the Mavs last night even though he was dealing with a minor wrist sprain. Julius Randle continues to be locked ahead of Nance and has played over 32 minutes in three of his last four starts. Randle has scored has put up two monster performances and will likely be heavily owned against the Suns on Thursday. There's not need to fade him against a team that ranks near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency. Ivica Zubac did not play against Dallas but is expected to play against Phoenix. The Lakers used Thomas Robinson with Zubac unavailable on Tuesday but Black is not a viable option even if he does stay ahead of Zubac in the rotation, which is unlikely.
Thomas Robinson will be available to play tonight for Lakers
Robinson hasn't played in nearly a week but he's ready to return to action tonight. He's a non-existent part of the Lakers rotation, however, so the DFS impact is minimal at best.
Thomas Robinson (illness) officially ruled out tonight
Robinson has been officially ruled out for tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets after previously being downgraded from questionable to doubtful on the Lakers' injury report due to an illness. Robinson has not been a regular part of the Lakers' frontcourt rotation for several weeks now, but he did manage to see 17 minutes in Sunday's blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The absence of Robinson will not have a huge effect on the Lakers' rotation as a whole, though there could be a few extra minutes available for Ivica Zubac behind Tarik Black at center.
Thomas Robinson (illness) downgraded to doubtful tonight
Robinson has officially been downgraded to doubtful for tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets after previously being listed as questionable on the Lakers' injury report due to an illness. Robinson has not been a regular part of the Lakers' frontcourt rotation for several weeks now, but he did manage to see 17 minutes in Sunday's blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs. If Robinson is eventually ruled, which it appears he will be, there won't be huge effect on the Lakers' rotation as a whole, though there could be a few extra minutes available for Ivaca Zubac behind Tarik Black at center.
Thomas Robinson sent home from practice; questionable for Lakers tonight
Not major news since Robinson is a minimal part of the rotation, but he appears unlikely to play tonight after being sent home during the team shootaround due to illness.
Jordan Clarkson and Tarik Black both questionable due to sprained ankles for tomorrow
Both Clarkson and Black sprained their ankles against the Pistons and are questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets. If Clarkson is out, expect Lou Williams to have another solid performance. He'll likely garner a fair share of ownership coming off a good game on Sunday. D'Angelo Russell and Nick Young would also project to play 30 minutes if Clarkson is out. Tarik Black's absence would only give a slight boost to Thomas Robinson. T-Rob is a simply a GPP play because he rarely plays over 20 minutes.
Luol Deng's status uncertain for Lakers tonight against Portland
Deng is dealing with a biceps injury and did not take part in the team shootaround this morning. While he did state he is feeling better, his availability for tonight's game against the Trail Blazers is uncertain. Averaging over 30 minutes a game, he'd open up a lot of minutes for Brandon Ingram and Thomas Robinson if he were to sit.
Luol Deng questionable for Thursdays game for Lakers
The Lakers forward is dealing with tendinitis in his right biceps and is questionable for their game against Portland on Thursday after missing practice today. Brandon Ingram and Thomas Robinson would benefit the most if he is unable to play tomorrrow.
Julius Randle OUT for Friday's game against Orlando
Randle was expected to miss this game as he is with his fiancee as she gives birth to their first child. Brandon Ingram got the start and played 35 minutes while Luol Deng continued to play well with 34 minutes. You can also look at Thomas Robinson, who thrived in just 18 minutes of play, as a high-risk, high-reward value option.
