Andrew Romine Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Dee Gordon (sore shoulder) scratched Monday; Andrew Romine replaces

Gordon has been scratched from the Seattle Mariners original confirmed lineup and will not start in Monday’s matchup against the Oakland Athletics due to a bothersome sore shoulder. He’ll be replaced in the lineup by Andrew Romine, who will play second base and slot into the ninth spot in the order, which does bump Guillermo Heredia up one batting position to eighth, respectively. However, the remainder of the Mariners lineup will stay intact as they face off against left-hander Sean Manaea on the road this evening.

Mikie Mahtook scratched Saturday; Andrew Romine replaces and will bat eighth

Mahtook has officially been scratched from the Detroit Tigers lineup for today's game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to left groin soreness. He'll be replaced in the said lineup by Andrew Romine, who will take over the left field duties and bat eighth. This lineup change will bump Jeimer Candelario all the way up to the two-hole from his original position of seventh, while JaCoby Jones moves up one spot to seventh in the batting order. However, the remainder of the Tigers previously confirmed lineup does remain unchanged.

Tigers have just a 96 wRC+, but a major league leading 41.9 Hard% vs RHP

Jason Hammel did look decent last time out in Yankee Stadium of all places, he’s allowed seven HRs in his last five starts and did not strike out a single Yankee in Kansas City two starts back. He’s turned into more of an extreme fly ball pitcher this year (43%), which is fine in this large park, but it is not a negative overall run environment. The Tigers have been surprisingly below average against RHP (96 wRC+, 23.8 K%), but do have an impressive 10.3 BB% and 26.3 Hard% against them and have had some major players in and out of the lineup this year due to nagging injuries. Tonight, they're minus just Ian Kinsler. While LHBs have a higher wOBA (.336 to .318) against Hammel since last season, batters from both sides have made hard contact on 32% of batted balls. Additionally, his 88.7 mph aEV is one of the highest marks on the slate tonight. J.D. Martinez (142 wRC+, .252 ISO vs RHP since 2015) is expensive, but may be the top bat in the Detroit lineup at this point. Miguel Cabrera (150 wRC+, .220 ISO vs RHP since 2015) remains viable at one of the few strong positions on the slate. Alex Avila (141 wRC+, .223 ISO vs RHP since last season) has the highest rate of contact above 95 mph (63.2%) in the league this year, but Andrew Romine (81 wRC+ vs RHP since last season) is the only batter in the lineup with a wRC+ above 90 (131) over the last week among the first eight batters in the lineup tonight, though all three of the previously mentioned Tigers have a hard hit rate above 40% in that span, along with Victor Martinez and Justin Upton.

Jim Adduci scratched from Tigers lineup; Andrew Romine will start in his place

Adduci has been scratched from the Detroit Tigers lineup for tonight's game against the Los Angeles Angels due to an undisclosed reason. In his place, Andrew Romine will play center field and bat eighth, sliding Tyler Collins over to right field. This lineup change moves Collins and James McCann up one spot in the batting order and they are now hitting sixth and seventh respectively.

There may be plenty of cheap firepower Minnesota @ Chicago game

While there aren't really many incredibly expensive arms tonight, the game in Coors likely dictates players are still going to need to save money somewhere. Players can probably consider Ezequiel Carrera a top punt option, batting second for the Blue Jays against Chase De Jong for exactly $2.7K on either site. De Jong has just a 10 K% and 50% fly ball rate through two starts. Ryan Rua is a league average bat against LHP that bats further down in the lineup, but in one of the more run friendly environments in Texas and at a cost of $3K on DraftKings, $2.5K on FanDuel. Chris Coghlan is another average bat against RHP, who is even cheaper ($2.5K on DK, $2K on FD). Matt Davidson (139 wRC+, .361 ISO vs RHP) bats sixth against Phil Hughes (RHBs .355 wOBA since 2015) for just $2.6K on FanDuel. The punt catcher may be Chris Gimenez tonight. He faces Derek Holland (RHBs .340 wOBA since 2015) for less than $3K on either site and has done the most with his opportunities against southpaws since 2015 (129 wRC+, .244 ISO). He can be paired with teammate Jorge Polanco (117 wRC+, .179 ISO vs LHP since 2015) for just a bit more on either site ($3.2 DK, $2.8 FD) at another difficult position. Matt Szczur (77 wRC+, .162 ISO vs LHP since 2015) bats second against Martin Perez (RHBs .339 wOBA since 2015) for just $2.3K on FanDuel. Conor Gillaspie (84 wRC+, .154 ISO vs RHP since last season) could be a min-priced bat or close to it in the middle of the San Francisco lineup against Bronson Arroyo. If Andrew Romine (77 wRC+ vs RHP since last season) leads off again against JC Ramirez, he's not very good, but costs just $2.1K on DraftKings.

Ian Kinsler scratched, Romine bats leadoff

Kinsler was originally set to return to the Tigers lineup tonight but has officially been scratched due to left hamstring tightness that has now forced him to miss four consecutive games. He'll be replaced in the lineup by Andrew Romine, who will play second base and slide directly into the leadoff spot, effectively allowing the remainder of the Tigers lineup to remain fully intact. This lineup change immediately vaults Romine into consideration for all formats as a salary-saving option given his low price tag across the industry.
