Anthony Mantha Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

This Top Line Should Have A Field Day This Evening

With this being the last day of the season and a lot of teams playing for nothing it is hard to not take a look at one of the top lines in the league over the last two weeks. The Red Wings have been out of the play-off picture for a while which prompted them to put Tyler Bertuzzi, Anthony Mantha and Dylan Larkin together as the team’s top line. Over the last two weeks the team has gone 6-1 which has been propelled by the 17 goals and 21 assists that the top line has collected. There is no reason that they won’t play this evening as they are not in the play-offs and should not rest anyone. The added bonus here is that they play a Buffalo team that has given up a league leading 44 goals in their last 11 games. Detroit is the home team which means that the top line will skate against whatever line that head coach Jeff Blashill desires. Larkin leads the team with 32 goals and 41 assists while Bertuzzi became the first player in team history to notch at least three points in four consecutive games.

This young winger has started to heat up as of late

Let's get this out of the way immediately, I view this is a two-man stack option with Anthony Mantha and Andreas Athanasiou. I don't view Luke Glendening as an option as his offensive potential is minimal. Mantha and Athanasiou play on the top power play unit together, too, which is great for their upside. Now, Mantha has been on fire as of late with 7 points in his last 4 games with 23 shots in the process. They weren't the strongest opponents as they faced Philadelphia twice, and Chicago and Ottawa once each. However, tonight they host the Minnesota Wild who on the tail-end of a back to back and will have back-up goalie Alex Stalock in net. He has struggled this season with a 3.08 GAA and an .890 SV% which the Red Wings should be able to take advantage of.

Red Winger continues to pepper goalies with shots

Anthony Mantha has 13 shots on goal in his last two games, and overall, Mantha is riding a 15 game streak where he has taken at least two shots on goal. That kind of consistency bodes well in cash games given his affordable price tag (DraftKings - $5,000 and FanDuel - $4,500). A matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks only accentuates Anthony's value. After all, the Blackhawks are allowing the most scoring chances per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 on the road of all 31 teams in the National Hockey League. Mantha is a building block in all formats.

This could be a sneaky-good underowned option for tonight.

Dylan Larkin has had a solid start of 2019, with 7 goals and 14 goals in 15 games so far. The Detroit Red Wings have stacked their top line with what little talent they have as Larkin will be centering Anthony Mantha and Gustav Nyquist. This line also remains together on the top power play unit which gives them full-game correlation. Additionally, the opposing Ottawa Senators have been terrible. Over the last month, they are dead last allowing a 66.83 CA/60 which should give this line plenty of opportunities.

Discount winger draws strong matchup at home

Anthony Mantha has not scored a goal in nearly a month, but if there were ever a time, it is tonight against an Ottawa Senators team which continues to skate backwards on the road. Mantha is back on the top line with Dylan Larkin who continues to shine for the otherwise awful Red Wings. Mantha is averaging nearly three shots on goal per game and figures to be involved against Ottawa's league-worst defense. Mantha is viable in all formats at his nice price tag.

Sizzling Red Wing takes on division rival

Anthony Mantha is fresh off a game where he took 10 shots on goal, finding the back of the net twice while dishing out an assist against Sergei Bobrovsky who has been rock solid this month. The game before that, Mantha manufactured a goal and an assist. While there are more exploitable matchups tonight, there is not much salary relief on this five game slate. Mantha stands out as a cut above the rest as he is just $4,600 on FanDuel and moderately priced on DraftKings ($5,100). Mantha has been quite productive in November, scoring six goals and three assists while averaging 3.50 shots on goal in 12 contests. Furthermore, Anthony is averaging nearly three and a half minutes more than October. His stock is on the rise.

Three straight multi-point games for speedy Detroit winger

While Andreas Athanasiou is priced excessively on DraftKings ($6,900) where he checks in $100 more than superstar Nikita Kucherov, FanDuel seems to have missed the memo (along with some other players like Thomas Chabot) about Andreas as he is a baffling $4,800 on that site. The Detroit speedster has been electric in November, posting a goal and an assist in three consecutive games as the Red Wings have won four straight games. A matchup with Ottawa is one to target as the Senators have allowed 4.22 goals per game -- by far the worst mark in the National Hockey League. A slow and sloppy Senator defense is a recipe for disaster against the speedy Athanasiou. Andreas is an easy pass on DraftKings at the elevated price tag, but he checks in as a premier play on FanDuel in all formats. Teammate Anthony Mantha (DraftKings - $4,900 & FanDuel - $4,000) is viable on both sites.

Injuries Lead to Opportunities in Detroit

The Red Wings are likely to be without Andreas Athanasiou, Frans Nielsen, and Thomas Vanek tonight, leaving some holes to be filled. Tyler Bertuzzi and Anthony Mantha could be two of the biggest beneficiaries, and both have been heating up lately. Both have goals in back-to-back games and should see plenty of ice time against the Devils. They are cheap across the industry and allow you to pay up for other premium skaters.

Big-bodied winger eyes big night against defensive dumpster fire

Anthony Mantha has put together an inconsistent season, posting 47 points in 79 games, but he is currently on a nice run, posting a goal and three assists in his last four contests. The defensive woes of the New York Islanders are no secret as they are dead last in the National Hockey League for both HDCA/60 and SCA/60. With a red-hot Dylan Larkin and Darren Helm as linemates, both of whom are quite affordable, this trio makes for a fantastic line stack. In fact, in two meetings against the Islanders this season, Mantha has buried three goals while Larkin has distributed four apples in two meetings. Lock and load with Anthony in all formats as he checks in at just $4,600 on FanDuel and $4,900 on DraftKings.

This talented Detroit rookie is looking to finish the season on a high-note

It's a whole new era in Hockeytown, and while this season has certainly been disappointing, the Wings do at least look to have some talented young forwards. Leading that charge is Anthony Mantha who will take the ice tonight owning 24 goals and 23 assists in 78 games this season. He's racked up a goal and three assists during his current three game point streak and has already scored a goal and added an assists against the Montreal Canadiens in their three prior meetings this season. Slated to skate alongside speedsters Dylan Larkin and Darren Helm, Mantha should find plenty of scoring chances tonight against this struggling Montreal club.
