Smith suffered a season-ending knee injury Thursday night. Tampa Bay is completely depleted at running back, with Doug Martin, Charles Sims, Jacquizz Rodgers, and now Smith, all sidelined at the moment. If Rodgers and Sims can't come back for their next game, Peyton Barber will get another start. He had 15 touches for 55 yards against the Falcons. Smith had taken eight touches from him, so Barber's volume would increase next week.

Rodgers is not expected to be ready for this weeks game and the Buccaneers signed Mike James to their active roster in anticipation. It'll likely be Antone Smith getting the bulk of the work in their Thursday Night game against the Falcons with some Peyton Barber mixed in.

He was spotted in a walking boot today, and isn't going to suit up Thursday night against the Falcons. In his place, Tampa will likely start Atone Smith, but he'll probably be in a committee with Peyton Barber, and to a lesser extent, Mike James. Smith has 72 total yards on eight touches this season. He's only had 35 carries in his entire seven-year career, so he can't be depended on to produce a lot of fantasy points. Look for Jameis Winston to throw a ton against a Falcons' defense that struggles against the pass. Winston, Mike Evans, Cameron Brate, and Adam Humphries benefit the most from Rodgers' injury.

Tampa Bay Head Coach Dirk Koetter isn't very optimistic about his current starting RB Jacquizz Rodgers being able to play this Thursday. With Doug Martin and Charles Sims already out this leaves the Bucs dangerously thin as they face a vulnerable Atlanta defense. Antone Smith out touched Peyton Barber 5 to 1 this past week and seems to be the guy Koetter would lean on - he's certainly in play for those playing Thursday night slates as a value option.
