Big minutes for Vancouver blue liner
Ben Hutton took over the "Troy Stecher duties" last time out, getting the top power play minutes for the Vancouver Canucks. While both are not particularly effective defenseman, Vancouver really does not have anyone else to turn to. Hutton has logged 25-plus minutes in five consecutive contests and should see more of the same tonight against a woeful Ducks' team. Hutton checks in at just $3,300 which gives him cash game appeal to spend up at forward, where there are a number of high-floor, high-ceiling options on this six game slate.
If not spending on a defenseman, look to this Canuck
The cheap options from the blue line tonight are lacking at best, but Ben Hutton is at least seeing minutes and someone has to soak all of the opponent's shots up with Alexander Edler out. Since the injury to Edler, Hutton has seen his minutes skyrocket, logging 29:25, 24:33, 22:42, 27:55 and 22:29 in his last five games. While Hutton does not do much in his time on the ice, his price reflects that. Additionally, Hutton does see time on the team's second power play unit. With the Avalanche on the tail end of a back-to-back after gassing in the third yesterday, Hutton is worth your consideration.
