All QBs on Broncos' roster are ineligible to play Sunday

All the Broncos' QBs have been ruled ineligible to play this week, with Jeff Driskel testing positive Thursday, then Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles all being declared close contacts of Driskel. This will effectively kill the value of all the Broncos' pass catchers, while increasing the volume of work for the RBs. However, the Broncos are likely to struggle offensively all day, and there is a good chance they are barely able to move the ball. Practice squad WR Kendall Hinton appears to be likely to get work as QB Sunday, but it is impossible to know exactly what the Broncos will do Sunday.

Broncos pull QBs Drew Lock, Brett Rypien, and Blake Bortles from practice over COVID-19 close contact concerns. Status for Sunday is unknown.

The Broncos pulled QBs Drew Lock, Brett Rypien, and Blake Bortles from practice Saturday over COVID-19 close contact concerns. QB Jeff Driskel was placed on the COVID-19 list Thursday, and appears to be the potential close contact. All three players' statuses for Sunday are unknown, and COVID-19 restrictions make it impossible to attempt any last second signings. Royce Freeman is reportedly the emergency QB, and would instantly become an appealing fantasy option if forced to fill in tomorrow. This is a situation to monitor closely, and we likely won't have clarification until Sunday morning.

QB Blake Bortles will start in season finale Sunday

With Cody Kessler having been equally as bad as a replacement, Bortles will get to close the season but has a daunting matchup on the road at Houston where the Jaguars are projected for 16 points. That said, he's only $4,400 on DraftKings for Week 17 and always carries some rushing upside.

Blake Bortles likely to start finale at Texans

Jaguars players make it sound like QB Blake Bortles will start finale at Texans. With not much running game to lean on and a Texans defense that funnels towards the pass, Bortles may be a sleeper option in the finale.

Cody Kessler to start at QB for the Jags on Sunday

Head Coach Doug Marrone announced the decision to bench QB Blake Bortles on Monday following the team's seventh straight loss where Bortles barely eclipsed the 100 yard passing mark for the second week in a row. The Jaguars also fired their offensive coordinator on Monday so the offense is guaranteed to look different to some extent with Kessler at the helm. The third-year QB started half a season for the Browns in 2016 and perhaps he'll get more opportunities than Bortles to air it out with QB coach Scott Milanovich as the new offensive play-caller. Kessler gets a home matchup with the Colts in Week 13 and is the bare minimum or close to it across sites, bringing him into tournament consideration.

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles Injured, but Expected to Play

Blake Bortles to take all Starter Reps this Week

Doug Marrone says Blake Bortles will take all the starter reps this week in practice. Seems like the Jags are dismissing the idea of moving on from Bortles. This is a winnable match-up versus the Eagles, so perhaps Bortles can get back on track this week.

Jaguars confirm Blake Bortles will start in Week 8

Despite being benched in favor of Cody Kessler during week 7 due to poor play against the Texans, the Jaguars have confirmed that Blake Bortles will start for the team Week 8. Bortles will look to bounce back in London against the Eagles, who have been much stronger against the run than the pass thus far this season.

Cheap Options

I don't necessarily LOVE the Jaguars offense this week, but I do love the dirt cheap price tags we can get on Bortles and his receivers. This is a week where we are going to want to spend some money on high-end players, especially at RB, so getting the salary savings here works out well. Houston currently ranks 2nd in DVOA against the rush and just 25th against the pass, so there's solid upside at a very reasonable cost with a Bortles/Cole or Bortles/Westbrook pairing this week. Look for this team to get back on track after two very bad losses.
