CHI WR Velus Jones (hamstring) did not practice today.

It's a step in the wrong direction as he was at practice yesterday, and it looks like we might have to wait to see his debut if the trend continues.

Sammy Watkins still a game-time decision, but Chiefs reportedly not optimistic he will play

Sammy Watkins is still a game-time decision, but the Chiefs are reportedly not optimistic he will play. Both Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter have now mentioned the lack of optimism, so it sounds like Watkins is closer to doubtful than questionable for today. That would be a boost to the WRs behind Tyreek Hill, specifically Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle.

Sammy Watkins (Hamstring) Out Thursday Night

Watkins missed last week and the Chiefs had a quick turnaround with the Thursday night game. He has been ruled out, which opens up some targets for Hardman, Pringle and Robinson.

Sammy Watkins (Hamstring) Could Return for Thursday Night Football

Watkins missed Sunday's game but has a good chance to return Thursday night for the Chiefs. Tyreek Hill returned last week, meaning the Chiefs could have a healthy offense for the first time since Week 1. Byron Pringle had a breakout Week 5 and still managed 3 targets Week 6, but he would be pushed back to a special teams focused role if Watkins returns.

Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (Shoulder) Will be Active Today

Hill will make his return from the injury he suffered in the season-opener. He is an excellent tournament option because his team is projected to score about 30 points, he isn't too expensive across the industry, and he faces defense that is average in pass DVOA.

Hill has a good chance to take the field today. Be sure to monitor his status until kickoff. Hill would make an excellent GPP play against the beatable Texans secondary.

Sammy Watkins (Hamstring) Doubtful Sunday

Watkins was not able to practice all week and is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday. Byron Pringle is likely to be the biggest beneficiary if Watkins is out.

Sammy Watkins (Hamstring) Does Not Practice Wednesday

Sammy Watkins did not practice Wednesday. He had to leave Sunday's game with a hamstring injury after playing just two snaps. Tyreek Hill was also out, opening the door for Byron Pringle to have a break out game, catching 6 of 9 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown. Pringle will be the biggest beneficiary if both Watkins and Hill remain out.

De'Anthony Thomas Activated, Byron Pringle Waived

Pringle was at the bottom of the WR depth chart and ended up being waived to make room for the return of De'Anthony Thomas.

Even with Tyreek Hill's injury, the Chiefs still have a talented receiving corps, with Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman all above Thomas. Travis Kelce is an elite TE and Damien Williams caught all 6 of his targets Week 1, showing just how deep this passing attack is for Kansas City. Thomas will not have a consistent role in this offense.
