C.J. Watson available to play tonight for Orlando

The Magic guard is available to return to action after being out for a short period of time - he had started the four games prior to his injury and it's not known what role he will take on tonight against the Miami Heat. Elfrid Payton and D.J. Augustin will both see a hit in their playing time with Watson back. Payton is the only one worth rostering for DFS purposes tonight.

C.J. Watson and Nikola Vucevic both practice for Orlando today

Watson looks as if he will return after missing the teams past three games. Vucevic's status was never really in doubt and him practicing today solidifies that he's likely going to play tomorrow.

C.J. Watson (Achilles) out for at least another week

Watson is going to miss some time and the Magic are considering signing a point guard to a ten-day contract to fill his roster spot. Elfrid Payton is expected to get another start Saturday. He didn't do much against Portland in his last start, he scored nine points, grabbed two rebounds, and picked up three assists in 22 minutes of action. D.J. Augustin played 26 minutes but produced less. Mario Hezonja will also pick up some extra playing time with Watson out, he scored ten points in 25 minutes last game. Even with those three getting some added run, the best fantasy targets on the Magic will be Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, and newly-acquired Terrence Ross. Ross scored 13 in his team debut, but he could've had a lot more if he hadn't shot so poorly from the field - he went 4-for-17. Ross is our top points-per-dollar option on FanDuel today. The Magic's implied team total of 102.8 is 3.3 points above their season average.

C.J. Watson OUT for Orlando tonight

Watson has been starting of late for the Magic but will miss their game tonight against Portland with a strained Achilles. Elfrid Payton will get the start and will be a top point guard option against a suspect Trail Blazers defense that is 25th in the league in fantasy points allowed (although they have been surprisingly effective against point guards ranking 10th in the league).

C.J. Watson starting over Elfrid Payton tonight

Watson will be inserted in the Magic starting lineup at point guard for tonight's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, sending Elfrid Payton back to the bench to assume a reserve role. Despite the starting nod, it's difficult to imagine Watson seeing more minutes than Payton in Thursday's contest. With all the value available on tonight's slate, Watson is a relatively uninteresting option in every format. On the other hand, Payton was already an intriguing tournament target in a great matchup with the Sixers' backcourt defense but will now see reduced ownership due to his "demotion" to the bench.

Evan Fournier (heel) returns to the starting lineup tonight, replacing C.J. Watson

Fournier will be reinserted into the starting lineup at his normal shooting guard spot for tonight's game against Indiana Pacers, sending C.J. Watson back to the bench to resume his reserve role. Fournier will remain without a strict minute restriction, as he did in his return Monday when he only saw 23 minutes of action off the bench. Fournier's reemergence into the starting unit is a slight knock to the projected fantasy value of Elfrid Payton due to the likely usage decrease. Now that Fournier's been given the starting nod by Magic head coach Frank Vogel, it's certainly possible that Fournier could approach that 28-30 minute range this evening, making him an interesting tournament option where his price tag remains discounted.

C.J. Watson starting over Jeff Green tonight

Fournier will not play in today's game against the Boston Celtics due to a sore right foot that has now forced him to miss seven consecutive games. C.J. Watson will draw the start at shooting guard, replacing Jeff Green in the first unit after one game. Watson should be expected to continue handling a majority of the minutes at shooting guard, however, he is a volatile daily fantasy option that doesn't realistically possess an attainable ceiling. Additionally, D.J. Augustin is available to play off the bench and will also absorb some of the vacated shooting guard minutes in addition to his normal backup point guard role. According to our CourtIQ tool, Augustin owns a positive 3.9% usage rate differential (25.3%) with Meeks and Fournier off the court this season. Augustin is an intriguing tournament option on Friday's slate, despite coming off the bench, and should see at least 25-28 minutes of action, health permitting.

Evan Fournier limited participant in shootaround this morning for Magic

Fournier was limited in shootaround and is officially questionable for the Magic tonight. He's probably not going to play but we'll continue to keep an eye on the situation and update you if anything changes. C.J. Watson would likely start again in his absence. Also of note, D.J. Augustin took part in the shootaround and is also questionable.

C.J. Watson to replace the injured Jodie Meeks in the starting lineup

Watson will draw the start at shooting guard for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, replacing the injured Evan Fournier and Jodie Meeks, and the latter is expected to miss four to six weeks after spraining two ligaments in his right thumb in Wednesday's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Meeks had been starting in place of Fournier for the last three games, and with Fournier officially ruled out, Watson should be expected to handle a majority of the minutes at shooting guard. However, he is a volatile daily fantasy option that doesn't realistically possess an attainable ceiling. D.J. Augustin can also be expected to absorb some shooting guard minutes in addition to his normal backup point guard role. According to our CourtIQ tool, Augustin owns a positive 4.2% usage rate differential (25.6%) with Meeks and Fournier off the court this season. Augustin is an intriguing value play on tonight's slate, despite coming off the bench, and should see at least 25 minutes of action at or near the stone minimum across the industry.

Evan Fournier OUT for Magic on Friday

Fournier is still dealing with a foot injury and has been ruled out by the team for their game tonight against the Bucks. With Jodie Meeks also out indefinitely, reserves Mario Hezonja, D.J. Augustin, and C.J. Watson will all receive boosts in their playing time.
