Commanders Practice Report: TE Logan Thomas (knee) and Cole Turner (Hamstring) limited; WR Cam Sims (concussion) DNP; TE John Bates (calf) full
WAS WR Cam Sims activated off the COVID list, eligible to play Tuesday
Cam Sims has been activated off the COVID list and will be eligible to play Tuesday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sims should slot back in as a depth piece for Washington's receiver corps. At this point Sims's activation doesn't figure to be too pertinent to DFS players but it is a good sign that Washington is getting healthy.
WAS WR Cam Sims and TE Sammis Reyes placed on COVID list
Cam Sims and Sammis Reyes have been placed on COVID list and will likely not play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sims was not expected to play much of a role this weekend and would likely have served as receiver depth. Dyami Brown will likely pick up any snaps that would have gone to Sims and does not figure to be DFS relevant. Reyes was also not expected to play much of a role this weekend and would have backed up Ricky Seals-Jones and John Bates. Seals-Jones and Bates are the only healthy tight ends on the roster so they should split the snaps this Sunday. Seal-Jones has a better track record and can be considered as a value option in tournaments, though it might be best to look elsewhere.
WAS WR Dyami Brown and WR Curtis Samuel ruled out Sunday; WR Cam Sims questionable; RB Antonio Gibson not on injury report
The WFT WR room will be shrunk once again, as they prepare to travel to Denver to play the Broncos. Brown's been dealing with a knee injury and won't play, while Samuel reaggravated his groin injury that's been bothering him since the summer. Sims is questionable to play due to a hamstring injury, which may be a relevant depth piece for the team. It'll be tough to prioritize anyone outside Terry McLaurin from the WR room, and possibly Ricky Seals-Jones at TE. Adam Humphries and DeAndre Carter will likely round out the three WR set, but neither will project great in a tough matchup, as McLaurin will command the biggest target share, while RSJ and J.D. McKissic take some as well. As for Gibson, he was able to get a full practice in, and like he has all year, he'll play through his shin fracture.
WAS WR Dyami Brown and WR Curtis Samuel DNP Thursday; Antonio Gibson, Cam Sims limited
The WFT's injury report is beginning to look similar from week to week, as they try to manage their injuries against the Denver Broncos. Gibson is limited again, and despite his efficiency dropping the last few weeks, he should be on pace to play through his shin fracture. Samuel and Brown look to be missing one more game, but their official designation should come tomorrow. Terry McLaurin will remain the alpha WR for the team, while Adam Humphries and DeAndre Carter helping supplement him if Samuel and Brown can't go.
WAS WR Curtis Samuel and WR Cam Sims ruled out for Sunday; RB Antonio Gibson listed questionable
Curtis Samuel and Cam Sims have been ruled out for Sunday while Antonio Gibson is considered questionable for when the Washington Football Team is set to take on the Green Bay Packers. Curtis Samuel and Cam Sims have been dealing with injuries and will miss two straight games now, meaning an increased workload for Dyami Brown and Adam Humphries while Terry McLaurin remains the clear top receiving option for Washington. Antonio Gibson is still dealing with a shin issue and will be a game-time decision, if he were unable to go J.D. McKissic and Jaret Patterson will see more work with Patterson expected to handle much of the early down work with McKissic handling the passing downs. The Packers should be leading in this game so Washington is expected to be forced to throw the ball more making those involved in the passing game better plays.
WAS WR Curtis Samuel and WR Cam Sims DNP Thursday; RB Antonio Gibson, WR Terry McLaurin, WR Dyami Brown, and TE Ricky Seals-Jones all limited
The WFT has had a lengthy injury report all year, and this week was no exception as they prepare to play the Green Bay Packers. The biggest names (Gibson and McLaurin) were both limited; McLaurin isn't really expected to miss, but there was some chatter about Gibson missing this week; his stress fracture in his shin limited him to 40% of the snaps last week, but he looks to be in good shape as he was able to get some work in now. RSJ and Brown look like they will both play; Seals-Jones has played every snap at TE, and although his price has gone up a bit, he'll still be viable as a cheap TE. Both Samuel and Sims have missed their second straight practice, and are looking closer to doubtful; both players missed last week, and Samuel's groin has been bothering him since week 1. The pass game will likely flow through McLaurin, RSJ, Brown, and Deandre Carter, but other than Mclaurin and Seals-Jones (and possibly the RBs), the team's better off being avoided.
WAS RB Antonio Gibson, WR Terry McLaurin, WR Curtis Samuel, WR Cam Sims, and TE Ricky Seals-Jones all DNP Wednesday; WR Dyami Brown limited
Antonio Gibson, Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Cam Sims, and Ricky Seals-Jones all logged DNPs Wednesday. Wow, this injury report is long as seemingly nothing can go right for the Washington Football Team so far this season. It is still early in the week and right now the hope is that all these players will be good to go by Sunday when they are set to take on the Green Bay Packers, but it looks like they will all be a little banged up heading into that contest. If Gibson were to miss, J.D. McKissic and Jaret Patterson would lead the backfield with McKissic expected to see the majority of the snaps becoming a much stronger play. The only healthy receiver for Washington that regularly sees snaps is Adam Humphries and depending on how many other pass-catchers are healthy enough to play on Sunday could be in store for a larger target share. This long list of injured players needs to be monitored throughout the week as value plays could be opened up ahead of Sunday.
WAS WR Curtis Samuel and WR Cam Sims ruled out for Sunday; WR Terry McLaurin and RB Antonio Gibson listed questionable
Curtis Samuel and Cam Sims have been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson have been listed as questionable. The Washington Football Team will be thin at WR in a matchup where they are expected to need to throw the ball but McLaurin is expected to be able to suit up. He should be the top option in the passing game with Adam Humphries and Dyami Brown also available. McLaurin should be considered in most formats as he should see a hefty target share in a game that will likely require Taylor Heinicke to try to match the scoring output of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense.
WAS WR Curtis Samuel and WR Cam Sims DNP Thursday; RB Antonio Gibson and WR Dyami Brown limited
The Football Team's injury report has been pretty lengthy all year, and today was no exception. Samuel and Sims both didn't practice, and both appear on their way to be missing Sunday's game. Gibson was listed as limited, and it's been clear over the last few weeks that Gibson will be playing through the stress fracture in his shin. Brown got his second straight limited session in, and appears to be ready to play after missing one week due to a knee injury. In the game with the highest total of the slate, Terry McLaurin and Ricky Seals-Jones will be the top two options (price and position considered), but if Samuel and Sims sit, Adam Humphries and Brown may be sneaky options due to the high volume of passing attempts expected against the high octane Chiefs.
