Chris Ivory Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Charles Clay a healthy scratch
In somewhat of a surprise move Charles Clay is a healthy inactive in today's game vs The Patriots. With the passing attack leaning heavily on the wideouts, Clay has been a non-factor in the gameplan for the last few weeks. That being said it's still somewhat of a surprise to see him not active today. Chris Ivory will also not play for the Bills today and it appears that LeSean McCoy is ready to return from a one-week absence.
LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory both are inactive today
Chris Ivory is the latest Bills running back to add his name to the inactive list. Without McCoy and Ivory, The Bills will lean on Marcus Murphy as their starting running back. With Josh Allen leading the way in terms of team rushing yards over the last few weeks, this remains a hard spot to forecast value for Murphy this week.
RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) back at practice Thursday
It remains to be seen how limited he was at Thursday's practice, but the return would seem to make the Bills RB1 at least questionable for Sunday after pulling his hamstring early in Week 14. Chris Ivory would lead the backfield if McCoy can't suit up and could be set up better than normal with the Bills in a rare home favorite position.
RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is day-to-day
The veteran back's "availability will be watched closely throughout the week" after suffering a hamstring strain on Sunday and failing to return to the game. Buffalo is favored at home this week, setting up the run game fairly well. If McCoy is sidelined, look for Chris Ivory to benefit from the potential positive gamescript and Marcus Murphy to mix in on passing/third downs.
Chris Ivory (shoulder) OUT Sunday vs Jets
Chris Ivory has been ruled out Sunday vs the Jets due to a shoulder injury. Look for LeSean McCoy to handle as heavy of a workload as he can carry out of the Bills backfield, although expectations for the offense as a whole should be limited with Matt Barkley under center on the road.
LeSean McCoy (concussion) questionable for Monday night, Chris Ivory and Derek Anderson not on final injury report for Bills
LeSean McCoy is officially questionable for Monday night due to still being in the concussion protocol, while Chris Ivory and Derek Anderson are not on the final injury report for Bills. It appears McCoy is the only remaining question mark for a less than impressive Bills offensive attack, who figure to be playing from behind most of the night against the Patriots. If McCoy is unable to play, look for Chris Ivory to see a heavy workload out of the Bills backfield.
LeSean McCoy limited in practice Thursday, expects to play Sunday
LeSean McCoy limited in practice Thursday, but he expects to play Sunday. The Bills relied on a combination of Chris Ivory and Marcus Murphy last weekend, and it turned out surprisingly well with the Bills getting a big road win in what was supposed to be one of the most lopsided games of the year. With McCoy expected back, he'll enter the GPP discussion thanks to a middling price tag and his workload/TD share, although the Bills offense is still one of the worst in the league. Don't expect tons of running lanes, but usage could turn McCoy into a viable Week 4 target.
Bills list Chris Ivory as starter Sunday
Chris Ivory will replace Lesean McCoy as the Bills lead RB Sunday against the Vikings. Ivory and the rest of the Bills offense should be avoided in this matchup.
Schefter Late-Night Tweets: LeSean McCoy unlikely to play, Blaine Gabbert to start over Mariota; Leonard Fournette likely to play
Per Schefter, LeSean McCoy is not expected to play against Minnesota, but is going to test his cracked ribs pre-game to see if he's healthy enough to play. We'll consider that doubtful for now, setting up Marcus Murphy and Chris Ivory to share work in a brutal draw with the Vikings. Murphy is likely to take on the bigger snap total with Buffalo expected to be playing from behind in the most lopsided game of the year, so he's the guy to target here if you're interested in taking a dart throw at a low-floor backfield. Ivory will see a good chunk of the early down work, and is more likely to be involved in close if the Bills make it there. It's also looking like we'll see Blaine Gabbert as the Titans starting QB on Sunday against the Jags, which still keeps us squarely on the Jacksonville D/ST unit. Corey Davis is an intriguing value target if you're rolling out multiple lineups, but there aren't any other Tennesee pass-catchers on the radar in Week 3. It's possible Mariota is still active but we could see him fail to play a snap again. As has been expected this week, Leonard Fournette is looking likely to play on the other side of this match-up. He's got a positive game-script and should get his typical allotment of work, but his injury is still a concern. T.J. Yeldon will act in a complementary role and would take on more work if Fournette is to leave again.
RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) limited again on Friday
RB LeSean McCoy practiced in a non-contact jersey on Friday, marking his third limited practice of the week. McCoy has played through the same injury before, but with the Bills already in the midst of a lost season, perhaps he ends up sitting out Sunday's game against the Vikings. Chris Ivory and Marcus Murphy would form a committee in McCoy's absence, with the former being more of a power back and the latter taking more of the third down/pass-catching role. Both would still be bottom of the barrel options at Minnesota on Sunday, where the Bills are installed as a 17-point underdog with an incredible 12-point team total. Consider McCoy questionable for Sunday.
