Chris Kirk Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Chris Kirk looks to bounce back from a missed cut
After missing the cut at last week's Corales Puntacana Championship, Chris Kirk will look to get some early season momentum back on his side. Trending towards a very low ownership number, there is a great opportunity to cheap exposure to a golfer with a ton of upside ahead of this week. After missing time in order to get his life back together, Kirk returned to the world of professional golf earlier this summer. Kirk wasted no time making an impact in the game of golf and with his win at The King and The Bear Classic ( Korn Ferry Tour), Kirk was able to claim his 7th career professional victory ( first since 2015). Playing in his 4th Sanderson Farms Championship, Kirk has 2 made cuts including a runner-up finish. Kirk is a great iron player who should find plenty of scoring opportunities on what is typically a second shot course.
Chris Kirk looks to continue his comeback
Chris Kirk took the road less traveled when he decided to take a break from professional golf in order to deal with depression and alcoholism. Back from his break, and now healthy and happy this multiple PGA Tour winner will look to build on what has been a positive return to golf. With a win on The Korn Ferry Tour in June, Kirk proved he can still compete at a high level. The next start after his win Kirk played his way near the lead to start the week but then faded on the weekend. Playing in this week's 3M Open, Kirk is a player trending towards a low ownership number. Game log watchers will see a bunch of missed cuts for Kirk this season, but his victory in June on the Korn Ferry Tour carries more weight than those missed cuts. Kirk is a proven talent on tour and is worth roster consideration this week in what will be a very weak field.
Chris Kirk returns to action after an extended layoff
Chris Kirk will tee it up this week with a new perspective on both life and golf. Returning to action after a six-month layoff to deal with alcoholism and depression, Kirk appears to be in a much better place in life. Many gamers will stay away from Kirk due to rust, but it’s worth noting that Kirk played well in a small mini-tour event a few weeks back. It’s good to see Kirk back on tour, and at a bottom price tag he can be considered for GPP dart throws this week. Even if you are not ready to pull the trigger on Kirk on his first week back his return to golf is something you will want to monitor moving forward. Once the rust is off there is a solid chance that Kirk will be worth targeting at a value price in the near future.
Ten Minutes to roster lock, no major news to report
Ten minutes until roster lock and there is no major news to report. Notable withdrawals this week include Stewart Cink and Chirs Kirk, so please make sure to remove those players from any rosters. Good luck this week. ResultsDB will be up and running within 15 minutes of roster lock. Make sure to check out how your lineups stack up against the field.
Chris Kirk is no longer in the field
Chris Kirk has decided to take a pass on this weeks Wells Fargo Championship. Martin Piller will take his spot in the field. Piller should get added to pricing pools within the next 24 hours.
Ten minutes until roster lock make sure you have removed all players that are not in the field
It's been quite a busy week in terms of players opting to pass on playing at Pebble Beach. With ten minutes left until roster lock please take the time to make sure the players above are not in any of your builds. Good Luck this week grinders, as always we will have ReultsDB up shortly after lock so you can see how your lineups stack up in terms of ownership vs the field.
Kevin Na, Chris Kirk and Kyle Stanley have all withdrawn for The Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Player field news came out a bit later than normal this week in terms of Monday field movement. Usually, we get this kind of activity before salaries are released, but three players in this weeks field have all withdrawn from the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Kevin Na, Kyle Stanley, and Chris Kirk have all decided to not play this week, so please remove them from roster consideration.
Chris Kirk looks to build on a strong course history
Priced up a bit higher than most would like to see, Chris Kirk is still a great option for The RSM Classic. Having lived in the area for over six years Kirk has a ton of experience playing both courses. Evident by his solid track record at this event Kirk feel comfortable playing this tournament. Playing in his ninth RSM classic this week, Kirk is 6 for 8 in cuts made with a win and two top tens. In a week where prices are off due to lack overall talent, it's important to understand and adjust price based expectations. Trying to justify any play because of what we feel is a good or bad price in terms of past pricing history will be a bit harder this week. Lucas Glover just regained his PGA Tour card via PGA Tour school and is priced way higher than many would expect. From a cash game perspective, Kirk with a solid course history makes sense even if the price feels high. Low projected ownership could even make Kirk a great GPP option at a venue where he tends to play some of his best golf.
Elite Course History
Kirk is slightly overpriced this week, but I’m willing to pay a premium for him. He doesn’t come into the week in the best of form, missing two cuts in his last four events. Combine that with a hefty price tag and I doubt he ends up being more than 10% owned. Kirk is very familiar with St Simons Island, living there for six years. He has 300+ rounds under his belt at the two courses in rotation this week. He clearly likes the course, as evidenced by a win and two fourth place finishes here in the last five years.
Consistency with Upside
Kirk is a golfer that I always seem to be on the wrong side of, but this is a new season. I hope we start the 2018-19 season off on the right foot. He hits fairways, he’s great with his irons, and he’s a talented golfer that is priced at a discount in this field. He has made the cut here in all three of his appearances, highlighted by an eighth place finish in 2016. He ended last season on a high note, making 14 straight cuts and posting four top 11 finishes during that stretch. Consistency is never a bad thing to target, especially in the fall swing season.
