Cristhian Adames Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

DJ LeMahieu scratched, Dahl bats second, Adames replaces and bats 8th

DJ LeMahieu has been scratched and replaced by Cristhian Adames. David Dahl bumps up to second with everyone originally behind him bumping up a spot.

Ryan Raburn scratched. Charlie Blackmon replaces, bats leadoff

Raburn has been scratched from the lineup Tuesday night and will be replaced by Blackmon. Blackmon will lead off for the Rockies pushing Cristhian Adames to the second spot in the order.

Blackmon OUT, Story back, Adames leads off against Happ

J.A. Happ has allowed just a .307 wOBA to RHBs, but the Rockies have the 2nd highest projected run total at home tonight (5.94 runs). Five different Colorado batters have a .230+ ISO vs LHP this year (Arenado, Gonzalez, Story, Raburn, and Hundley) with Adames a top value in the leadoff spot for just $2.2K on DraftKings. All batters are playable on either site though players might want to be cautious with Mark Reynolds (64 wRC+, .054 ISO vs LHP this season) for $4.8K on DraftKings.

Adames bats 2nd with Story and LeMahieu OUT vs Estrada

Marco Estrada has a .183 BABIP and 80.7 LOB% leading to a 2.70 ERA nearly two runs below his estimators. It seems we've been calling for regression since the start of the season, but he has allowed three runs in six innings in two of his last three starts with five HRs over his last four. A 10.1 BB% and 33.7 Hard% with a 0.71 GB/FB is a good way to find trouble in Colorado. The Rockies have tonight's 2nd highest run projection (5.69) with Arenado (130 wRC+, .308 ISO vs RHP since 2015), Gonzalez (146 wRC+, .299 ISO vs RHP since 2015) and Blackmon (114 wRC+, .194 ISO vs RHP since 2015) looking like overall bats at their usual expensive price tags at home. All have a wRC+ above 140 and hard hit rate above 40% over the last week though. The value play here is a min-priced (or close to it) Cristhian Adames batting 2nd. He doesn't carry a strong bat (62 wRC+, .074 ISO vs RHP career), but gains a ton of value from the situation and plays a difficult position (SS).

Trevor Story to sit in game that has serious weather concerns

It's snowing in Colorado and RG Chief Meteorologist Kevin Roth states that the game is likely to have a delay with a PPD potential. The good news is that they will likely do all they can to get the game in since their will be little chance to make it up later in the season. It's obviously a high-risk, high-reward play and you'll want to avoid the SP's at all costs and load up on bats. Trevor Story is getting the day off and you'll want to load up on LH bats from the Rockies as their opposing SP, Juan Nicasio, has a career .362 wOBA allowed to that side of the plate. Anyone in the top five of the Rockies batting order (including RH bat Nolan Arenado) are top options - Cristhian Adames batting second allows you to get a bat in for cheap. Also don't sleep on Tony Wolters batting 8th as he too comes cheap and bats from the left side of the plate. For the Pirates, they face RHP Tyler Chatwood who has career wOBA's allowed of over .340 to both sides of the plate. Anyone in the top six of their order are excellent options with Andrew McCutchen being the clear cut leader of that group.

Cristhian Adames bats lead off for Rockies, Ben Paulsen, D.J. LeMahieu, Tony Wolters out

Granted, there really isn't much to like about the Rockies with Jake Arrieta on the mound for the Cubs. The Rockies have the lowest run total of the day at 2.49 and get the tough combination of Arrieta at Wrigley. Charlie Blackmon was just placed on the 15-day DL, and now they will be without Ben Paulsen, D.J. LeMahieu, and Tony Wolters for this one. While there is no doubt that the Cubs are likely going to blow them out, the only somewhat appealing bat for the Rockies is Cristhian Adames in the leadoff spot for Colorado. At minimum price, Adames offers a punt option at a position that is sometimes hard to fill, and if he can at least put a couple of balls in play and maybe draw a walk he could pay off well and allow you to spend up at some other positions. As the leadoff hitter for the Rockies who have four or five other powerful bats behind him, hopefully they could maybe bring him around for a run despite the tough match up. It would not be wise to deploy more than one or two Rockies vs. an ace pitcher like Arrieta in Wrigley, but at minimum price it is tough to ignore Adames. Please note that the 1:05 slate has already begun and the Cubs-Rockies game gets underway at 2:20, so this could be a good opportunity for a late swap on a site like DraftKings.
