Augustin may not play, according to beat report Jonathan Feigen. It was mentioned that Augustin could be considered "active" in order for the Rockets to have the minimum eight players to play. This means likely a couple more minutes for Kevin Porter Jr., and Avery Bradley and Armoni Brooks.

The Rockets will be getting one player back, but losing two, as they will only have eight healthy bodies against the Philadelphia 76ers. Wood and House were both downgraded from doubtful with their respective ankle injuries to out, while Augustin was upgraded from questionable with his ankle injury to available, and will play. With no Wood, House, and Jae'Sean Tate, as well as DJ Wilson ruled out due to the protocols, the Rockets will be even more decimated than they have been all year. Kelly Olynyk will start at center, while KJ Martin and DaQuan Jeffries should join the starting lineup in place of Tate and Wood. Due to the amount of bodies out, there’s no CourtIQ data with all the bodies out for the team. But the team will certainly run through Kevin Porter Jr. and Olynyk, with Martin likely playing the next most minutes for the team. KJ Martin is certainly the best value, but KPJ and Olynyk will both have to play heavy minutes and should be able to produce.

After being traded to the Rockets and playing 20 minutes in his team debut, Augustin was ruled out due to a stomach illness and will miss the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Porter Jr is also out, along with Eric Gordon and David Nwaba. With John Wall and Victor Oladipo both healthy and expected to start, Augustin would've played in the 18-20 minute range, but with his absence, Oladipo, Wall, and Sterling Brown will play a few more minutes while Mason Jones may re-enter the rotation and play spot minutes off the bench.

Despite never being listed on the Bucks' injury report, head coach Mike Budenholzer referred to Augustin as "highly doubtful" to play in Thursday's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a personal matter, while Jrue Holiday remains in the NBA's health and safety protocols and is still ineligible to play. Augustin's absence should allow Bryn Forbes to rejoin the starting lineup alongside Donte DiVincenzo in the backcourt, and with no other experienced point guards left on the active roster, both Forbes and DiVincenzo could be in line for additional playing time in tonight's contest. However, if Budenholzer does choose to expand his rotation one or both of Torrey Craig or Sam Merrill could see nominal minutes off the bench to help round out the second unit this evening.

Head coach Steve Clifford disclosed to reporters at his pregame media availability that Augustin will receive the start at point guard over Fultz in Friday's restart opener against the Brooklyn Nets after he was limited to fewer than nine minutes in the Magic's final scrimmage due to re-conditioning upon rejoining the team in the Orlando bubble. Clifford also reiterated that he intends to play Fultz and Jonathan Isaac off the bench in this afternoon's contest, and while Clifford expects them to play more than they did in the previous game, it appears that the Magic are taking the cautious approach and will have both players on a minute restriction in today's contest.

Augustin has officially been upgraded from questionable and will be available to play in Friday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks after missing the previous 15 games due to bone irritation in his left knee. Head coach Steve Clifford didn't specify with reporters at shootaround if Augustin will have a set minute restriction, but he did say that the team plans to ease him back into action. The return of Augustin to the second unit will probably affect the playing time of Michael Carter-Williams, Terrence Ross, and James Ennis III from the outset, and eventually could even push one of them, most likely Carter-Williams, from the rotation entirely in the near future.
