Danny Amendola Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

HOU RB David Johnson, WR Danny Amendola, WR Chris Moore, and TE Antony Auclair all activated from COVID list; WR Chris Conley (knee) DNP Wednesday

David Johnson, Danny Amendola, Chris Moore, and Antony Auclair have all been activated from the COVID list ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Johnson should reclaim his role in the Houston backfield splitting reps with Rex Burkhead, this split will limit the upside of both backs making them tough to play in DFS contests. Danny Amendola and Chris Moore should both slot back into their respective roles amongst the Texans receivers, neither warranting enough targets to be considered viable options in DFS this weekend. Auclair should serve as tight end depth and is not expected to be DFS relevant. Chris Conley (knee) logged a DNP Wednesday and his potential absence would not be big enough to have significant DFS ramifications

HOU WR Danny Amendola placed on COVID list

Danny Amendola has been placed on the COVID list ahead of the Texans matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Amendola was expected to serve as the third or fourth receiver for Houston but looks like he will be unable to suit up this weekend. With Amendola likely out, Nico Collins and Chris Conley will likely be asked to play a larger role in the Texans passing game behind Brandin Cooks. Aside from Cooks, it remains difficult to trust any pass-catcher in the Houston offense in DFS contests.

HOU WR Danny Amendola and RB David Johnson listed inactive for Sunday

Danny Amendola and David Johnson have been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. With Amendola out, Chris Moore and Phillip Dorsett could play a larger role in the Houston offense but not a large enough role to be considered in DFS contests. With Johnson out, Rex Burkhead will lead the backfield with Royce Freeman and Jaylen Samuels available to back him up. The Chargers have a poor run defense but the Texans are likely to be playing from too far behind to take advantage of this. Still, Burkhead could be considered strictly from an expected volume standpoint and has the chance to fall into the endzone.

HOU WR Danny Amendola activated to 53-man roster; WR Jalen Camp, RB Jaylen Samuels, FB Paul Quessenberry, and K Dominik Eberle elevated from practice squad

Danny Amendola has been activated to the 53-man roster from IR, while Jalen Camp, Jaylen Samuels, Paul Quessenberry, and Dominik Eberle have all been elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's contest with the Los Angeles Chargers. Amendola should slot back in as the third receiver with Brandin Cooks out due to COVID. Camp should serve as receiver depth and is not worth considering in DFS contests. Samuels is expected to serve as running back depth and will not be worth considering. Quessenberry will likely only serve as an extra blocker. Eberle is expected to handle the kicking duties for the Texans Sunday.

HOU WR Danny Amendola undergoes minor knee surgery, could miss a few weeks

Danny Amendola underwent minor knee surgery on Tuesday likely to cause him to miss a few weeks. In his absence expect Nico Collins and Chris Conley to be more involved in the offense behind leading receiver Brandin Cooks. As has been the case throughout most of the season it is difficult to roster any pass-catchers on the Texans outside of Cooks and this remains the case even with the loss of Amendola.

HOU WR Danny Amendola, TE Brevin Jordan, RB Scottie Phillips, and WR Davion Davis inactive Sunday

Danny Amendola, Brevin Jordan, Scottie Phillips, and Davion Davis will be inactive Sunday for the Texans. Amendola is still dealing with an injury and will be unable to suit up, in his absence Chris Conley and the returning Nico Collins should play a bigger role in the passing game opposite Brandin Cooks. Cooks remains the only reliable Texans offensive player that can be considered in DFS at this time.

HOU WR Danny Amendola and RB Rex Burkhead listed questionable for Sunday

Danny Amendola and Rex Burkhead have been listed as questionable for Sunday when the Texans are set to take on the Indianapolis Colts. Amendola will likely line up in the slot though if he is unable to go Chris Moore could play a larger role in the Texans' passing game. If Burkhead is able to suit up he would join a crowded backfield with Mark Ingram, David Johnson, and Phillip Lindsay likely causing one of them to be a healthy scratch. It is tough to trust any member of the Texans offense at this point outside of Brandin Cooks and this will continue to be the case in Week 6.

HOU WR Nico Collins, RB Rex Burkhead, and WR Danny Amendola will practice Wednesday

Nico Collins (on IR) and Danny Amendola (late inactive last week) will practice Wednesday. We are unsure at this point if both will be able to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts but Amendola seems to be the more likely of the two. Amendola should work out of the slot and when Collins returns he could potentially work opposite of Brandin Cooks. Rex Burkhead could join an already crowded running back by committee situation if he is ready to return. It is extremely difficult to play any member of the Texans' offense at this point with how inefficient they have been this year.

HOU WR Danny Amendola ruled out Sunday

Despite cutting Anthony Miller earlier in the week (due to having Amendola back), Amendola was ruled out and won't play against the Texans. There are very few options to choose from outside of Brandon Cooks on the team, and with the lowest team total on the week, it's best staying away from the team.

HOU WR Danny Amendola listed questionable for Sunday; RB Rex Burkhead ruled out

The Texans appear on their way to having their slot receiver back, as Amendola looks to return to face one of his old teams, the New England Patriots. The Texans did cut Anthony Miller earlier in the week, and their reasoning was that they have their slot receiver, so it certainly feels as if Amendola will be playing on Sunday. Burkhead was ruled out, but this doesn't open up much, as the triumvirate of David Johnson, Phillip Lindsay, and Mark Ingram will all continue to split work.
