Darnell Nurse Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Heavy minutes for this super star and line-mates
Connor McDavid is arguably the most talented playing in the NHL, and is playing a ton of minutes. He played 27 minutes last game. McDavid recently reunited with Leon Draisaitl, and Alex Chiasson, makes this line stackable again. The Arizona Coyotes haven’t been terrible defensively, but they do give up high danger chances in bunches. They are allowing 11.91 HDCA/60. All three play together at even strength and on the power-play. Darnell Nurse is the defenseman you will want to add to this stack as he correlates on the top special teams unit as well.
Update- Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ty Rattie are flanking McDavid now. They are still in a good spot. Liked them more with Draisaitl on the top line.
No slowing down this Edmonton blue liner
Darnell Nurse was recommended yesterday, and nothing has changed since then. Despite the mediocre matchup in Winnipeg, Nurse potted a goal and logged a season-high of over 31 minutes. Nurse's price is still laughably low on FanDuel ($4,000) and it did not budge on DraftKings ($5,000). Nurse will continue to log heavy minutes, perhaps more than any defenseman, while Oscar Klefbom is out. The Flyers have no goaltending and are coming off a backbreaking defeat in Calgary. Nurse has three goals and three assists over his last five games. Lock and load once again.
Big injury on blue line opens door for Darnell
With Oscar Klefbom on the shelf for at least several weeks, Darnell Nurse figures to get all the run he can handle. We saw that first hand last time out as Darnell logged a season-high ice time of 30:44 after Oscar left the game early. Ken Hitchcock had been leaning heavily on Klefbom, but now it's Nurse's turn as the other Oilers' defensemen leave a lot to be desired. Nurse will immediately slot onto the team's top power play unit with Connor McDavid, and in the Oilers' big win over the Avalanche, Darnell took six shots on goal in route to a goal and an assist, picking up his second multi-point outing in just three games. At $4,000 on FanDuel, Nurse is an incredible value. Even at $5,000 on DraftKings, and despite the somewhat mediocre matchup on the road in Winnipeg, Nurse is a strong option given his heavy workload and ability to block shots.
Oilers defenseman scored game-winning goal last time out
There is nothing flashy about Darnell Nurse, but he has had a solid start to the new season. Last time out, he buried the game winner in Winnipeg as the Edmonton Oilers, powered by the best player on the planet, erased a 4-1 deficit to win 5-4 in overtime. Nurse is logging heavy minutes on the Edmonton blue line and has averaged 3+ FP on DraftKings and 13 FP on FanDuel through the Oilers' first four games. His price ($4,400 on both DraftKings and FanDuel) is reasonable given his heavy workload on the Oilers' back end. Teammate Oscar Klefbom, who sees minutes on the team's top power play unit, is also a viable option, though he has had a slow start to the season.
Don't Sleep On This Superstar Tonight
One of the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for Edmonton, Connor McDavid continues to excite with 58 points this year. Reunited with talented playmaker Leon Draisaitl on Edmonton's top line, McDavid draws a sneaky good matchup against a Colorado team that can be exposed away from ice and will be without their best player in Nathan MacKinnon. Also featured on Edmonton's top power play, look for McDavid and Draisaitl to easily pay off their steep price tags against a Colorado penalty kill that ranks 25th on the road this year.
Could This Superstar Go Overlooked Tonight?
Anytime you can get the most exciting player in hockey at a lower than expected ownership, it creates enormous leverage in tournaments. Such could be the case tonight for Connor McDavid, who disappointed many on Tuesday in Edmonton's 5-0 loss to Buffalo. No longer skating with slow footed anchors Milan Lucic and Patrick Maroon, McDavid will play alongside talented young playmakers Caggiula and Slepyshev. They draw a great matchup against an overrated Flames squad that will be playing on tired legs following a tough loss to Los Angeles last night. In a game Edmonton desperately needs to win, expect a big performance from McDavid in a potentially high scoring affair.
Emerging weapon on Edmonton's blue-line
Known a bit more for his defensive accolades, Darnell Nurse is rapidly developing into a solid two-way blue-liner for the Oilers. The former first-round pick has scored four goals and added an assist over his last five games and just grabbed the reigns away from Oscar Klefbom as the point-man on Edmonton's lethal #1 power-play unit. He logged over four minutes of playing time on the power-play in their 5-2 victory over Vancouver on Saturday and his recent production (and added responsibilities) are not yet reflected in his asking price. With the Sabres owning an ugly 78.0% penalty kill, Nurse is a fine value option on the blue-line in all formats this evening.
