David Johnson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

HOU RB David Johnson, WR Danny Amendola, WR Chris Moore, and TE Antony Auclair all activated from COVID list; WR Chris Conley (knee) DNP Wednesday

David Johnson, Danny Amendola, Chris Moore, and Antony Auclair have all been activated from the COVID list ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Johnson should reclaim his role in the Houston backfield splitting reps with Rex Burkhead, this split will limit the upside of both backs making them tough to play in DFS contests. Danny Amendola and Chris Moore should both slot back into their respective roles amongst the Texans receivers, neither warranting enough targets to be considered viable options in DFS this weekend. Auclair should serve as tight end depth and is not expected to be DFS relevant. Chris Conley (knee) logged a DNP Wednesday and his potential absence would not be big enough to have significant DFS ramifications

HOU WR Danny Amendola and RB David Johnson listed inactive for Sunday

Danny Amendola and David Johnson have been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. With Amendola out, Chris Moore and Phillip Dorsett could play a larger role in the Houston offense but not a large enough role to be considered in DFS contests. With Johnson out, Rex Burkhead will lead the backfield with Royce Freeman and Jaylen Samuels available to back him up. The Chargers have a poor run defense but the Texans are likely to be playing from too far behind to take advantage of this. Still, Burkhead could be considered strictly from an expected volume standpoint and has the chance to fall into the endzone.

If Johnson were to be ruled out Rex Burkhead would lead the backfield with Royce Freeman available to back him up. The Chargers have a poor run defense but the Texans are likely to be playing from too far behind to take advantage of this. Still, Burkhead could be considered strictly from an expected volume standpoint and the chance to fall into the endzone.

HOU RB David Johnson placed on COVID list; WR Chris Moore inactive Sunday

David Johnson has been placed on the COVID list and Chris Moore has been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. With Johnson out the Texans will only have two backs available to split touches, Rex Burkhead and Royce Freeman. Burkhead should see the bulk of the work and can be considered a as a value option for today's slate.

HOU TE Brevin Jordan (hand) DNP Wednesday; RB David Johnson returned to practice

Brevin Jordan (hand) logged a DNP Wednesday, while David Johnson returned to practice ahead of the Texans matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Brevin Jordan is dealing with a hand injury and if he were to miss Pharaoh Brown would see the bulk of the tight end work with Anthony Auclair and Jordan Akins available to back him up. David Johnson practiced in full today signaling that he is over the illness that kept him out of Sunday's game. Johnson should return to splitting work with Rex Burkhead in the Texans backfield.

HOU RB David Johnson inactive Sunday

As expected, David Johnson has been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Johnson is still suffering ill effects of the illness that went through the Texans locker room and will be unable to suit up. In his stead Rex Burkhead should lead the backfield with Royce Freeman and the newly elevated Jaylen Samuels available to mix in. Burkhead can be considered as a value play but there are better options in better matchups elsewhere on the slate.

HOU WR Brandin Cooks expected to play Sunday; RB Davin Johnson unlikely to play

Brandin Cooks is expected to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts while Davin Johnson is unlikely to play. Cooks should remain in his role as the alpha receiver for the Texans by a wide margin with Nico Collins and Chris Conley also likely available. HOU WR Brandin Cooks, WR Chris Conley, and RB David Johnson all listed questionable for Sunday

Brandin Cooks, Chris Conley, and David Johnson all listed questionable for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. There is a non-COVID illness going around the Texans locker room leading to practice being cancelled earlier in the week. Cooks is the biggest name here for the Texans and would be a huge loss if he were unable to suit up this week. Nico Collins would serve as the top receiver and would need to be considered as a value option in most formats. Conley is expected to serve as the third receiver but his absence could also benefit Collins. If David Johnson were to miss, the backfield would be split between Rex Burkhead and Royce Freeman, with Burkhead being the better play. It will be important to monitor all three player’s game statuses when inactives are announced 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
