David Lingmerth Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Field Update at Wyndham Championship

Tuesday afternoon field movement includes both Jhonattan Vegas and Seung-Yul Noh deciding to take the week off. They will be replaced in the field by David Lingmerth and Robert Garrigus. Projections and POWN will be updated soon to reflect the changes.

Regional Love for the Swede

Similar to the Danny Lee story above, Lingmerth does a lot of his damage in this region. The Swede has 12 career top 10s and seven of those have come at the following events: QL National, The Greenbrier, the Memorial, or the WGC-Bridgestone. If you look at a map of the United States, you’ll quickly see the area of the country that brings out the best in Lingmerth. Adding to that appeal, one of those top 10s came here at TPC Potomac last year. In addition to that, he also won a Web.com Tour event at the course back in 2012. He’s very comfortable on the course and region, making him a strong candidate to contend this week.

David Lingmerth has upside at projected low ownership

Ownership and roster construction form a unique marriage each week. Sometimes the slate is defined by a value play that we can't simply get away from, and then more times than not our rosters are molded by the must spend studs. This week is shaping up to have very little stand out value and possible only one clear-cut stud. Usually, when this happens we see ownership levels spread out in order to accommodate a balanced roster build. One player in the mid-price range has a very good course history and is currently trending towards a low ownership. In addition to his two runner-up finishes at the CareerBuilder Challange, David Lingmerth is 84 under par in five starts at this event, and he has never missed a cut. The 30-year-old Lingmerth is making his first start of this calendar year and could end up being a great pivot play if ownership levels of players around him grow by the end of the week. Currently ranked outside the top 125 in the world, Lingmerth could use a good week to improve his chances of playing in some bigger events later in the season. The combination of his good course history and a reasonable price makes Lingmerth a viable play in almost any format this week.

David Lingmerth looks to remain hot

Lingmerth's one career PGA Tour victory came at the 2015 Memorial tournament. Like many other first-time PGA Tour winners, Lingmerth experienced a small slump in his game. Downswings don't last forever and Lingmerth appears to have found a bit of good recent form. Lingmerth was a good final round away from winning last week's Quicken Loans Invitational, and he looks to build on the momentum gained during last weeks tournament. Three top 15 finishes in his last five starts have Lingmerth's price higher than normal on DraftKings. Lingmerth's $7,600 price tag on FanDuel offers a big savings in comparison to his $10,000 price on DraftKings, and if you have the availability to play on multiple sites, then Lingmerth discount on FanDuel makes him a very intriguing play.

David Lingmerth returns to the site of his first U.S. Victory

This year's Quicken Loans Invitational will move to the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farms. For many years the TPC Avenel played host to the now extinct Kemper/Booz Allen golf tournament. Due to the lack of player approval and overall poor course design, the TPC Avenel hosted its last PGA Tour event in 2006. The newly renovated TPC Avenel course reopened in 2008 and soon regained its status as course capable of hosting a tour event. Since the time of the renovation the Web.com and Champions tours have played events at this course, and now it’s time for the PGA Tour to return. David Lingmerth is one of the few players to have any familiarity with the TPC Avenel. Lingmerth won The Neediest Kids Championship in 2012, so he should have good memories as he tee's up in this week's event. Lingmerth's one career PGA Tour victory came at the 2015 Memorial tournament. Like many other first-time PGA Tour winners, Lingmerth experienced a small slump in his game. Downswings should not last forever, and Lingmerth appears to have found a bit of good recent form. Lingmerth has posted top 30 or better finishes in five out of his last six tournaments, and he looks to be in good spot prior to this week's tournament.
