DeAngelo Williams Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Roethlisberger, Bell, and Brown all inactive Sunday, as expected
Landry Jones will start under center and his primary target will be Eli Rogers. DeAngelo Williams will split time with Fitzgerald Touissant in place of Le'Veon Bell. Williams is expected to get a good amount of work in order to get ready for the playoffs, but it's his first game since early November, so he will probably be somewhat limited. Pittsburgh has a good matchup against the Browns, but it's still hard to trust Jones to do well, which puts a damper on Rogers' fantasy value, and the backfield timeshare makes Williams and Touissant risky options as well.
DeAngelo Williams is INACTIVE Sunday
Williams (knee) was expected to play. His absence won't make much of a difference as he wasn't going to cut into Le'Veon Bell's workload. Bell projects as our RB1 this week and he's our top points-per-dollar play on FanDuel.
DeAngelo Williams will play for Steelers, not expected to impact Le'Veon Bell's workload
Williams (knee) will make his return today but isn't a threat to Le'Veon Bell. Williams averaged 2.5 touches per game in the four he played with Bell this season. Bell is coming off a ridiculous game against the Bills when he racked up 298 yards and three touchdowns. Cincinnati's rush defense isn't as bad as Buffalo's; they've been decent recently, ranking 15th in fantasy points allowed per game to running backs over the past four weeks on both FanDuel and DraftKings. While we can't expect a repeat of last week, Bell projects as our RB1 today, and he's also our top points-per-dollar running back on FanDuel.
DeAngelo Williams underwent knee surgery Wednesday
Williams is expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks following the procedure. He hasn't been too involved in the offense since Le'Veon Bell returned. Bell will continue to be the workhorse back for the Steelers, and is a strong option this weekend. He ranks in our top 4 points-per-dollar running backs on both FanDuel and DraftKings.
DeAngelo Williams OUT for Steelers this weekend
This would have been big news the first few weeks of the season but with Le'Veon Bell back in the fold it's just a minor blip on the radar. Fitzgerald Toussaint will likely back up Bell but is not a viable DFS play.
DeAngelo Williams dealing with knee injury
Details surrounding the injury were not immediately available. We likely won't know more until tomorrow. Since Le'Veon Bell returned, Williams has just six total touches. He only had one against the Jets this past weekend, although that may be due to this injury. As long as Bell is suiting up for the Steelers, Williams doesn't have much fantasy value outside of garbage time.
Le'Veon Bell expected to be heavily involved in Week 4
Mike Tomlin stated that "you're going to see Le'Veon Bell, and a lot of him, Sunday." It doesn't look like the Steelers are going to try to ease him back into game action, so we should expect in the neighborhood of 20-25 touches assuming this one stays competitive, which it's fully expected to. DeAngelo Williams value takes a huge hit with this news - he's nothing more than a complementary back when Bell is healthy. The Chiefs haven't been all that stout against opposing RBs despite shutting down Matt Forte last weekend, so Bell is a fine option in any format as the Steelers workhorse.

Paying Up At Running Back May Be Your Best Bet This Week
With so much uncertainty around the league at RB this week, it may be worth finding value at WR and hedging your risk by paying up for predictable, high-volume backs. As mentioned earlier, there were a litany of injuries this weekend, and many backfields are in question heading into Week 3. Even if the starters in places like Miami, Carolina, and Minnesota can't go, there aren't clear favorites to take on the workload alone; we'll likely see several committees with unpredictable red-zone and goaline usage. Plus, teams like Jacksonville and Kansas City may get their starters back for the first time. It might be best to avoid the situations in question altogether, especially in cash. DeAngelo Williams, David Johnson, C.J. Anderson, Melvin Gordon, and several others at the top should be the easiest to predict in terms of volume and performance; they should all have solid floors. Minimizing risk at RB requires you take take on a little more at other positions like WR, but this is a good week for value plays. Earlier today we highlighted receivers DeVante Parker and Tajae Sharpe. Phillip Dorsett may be an option if Donte Moncreif can't go. Eddie Royal, who has at least 15.2 DraftKing points and 6 targets through the first two weeks, costs just $3,500 on DK. Travis Benjamin, Stefon Diggs, and Mike Wallace are all $5,200 or less on there. WR prices on FanDuel are closer together, but there are certainly ways to save with a similar set of players. Even in a GPP format this could prove a lucrative strategy as many DFS players may search for value at RB instead. Although it seems chaotic, weeks like this can be a lot of fun, and more importantly, profitable, if one successfully stays on top of all of the information as it comes out.
DeAngelo Williams officially OUT for this week
As expected, Williams will miss this weeks game joining WR Antonio Brown on the sidelines. Fitzgerald Toussaint will likely get the start and while it's not the best match up going against a tough Broncos defense, he's definitely in play on this playoff slate, especially on PPR sites like DraftKings where his value increases due to his usage in the passing game (especially with Big Ben banged up and likely having to dump off often). Jordan Todman should also continue to see some snaps but Toussaint is the preferred option.
