DeSean Jackson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
BAL QB Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) and WR DeSean Jackson (illness) are listed questionable for Week 18.
BAL QB Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) and WR DeSean Jackson (illness) are listed questionable for Week 18.
LVR RB Josh Jacobs and WR DeSean Jackson both expected to play Sunday
Josh Jacobs and DeSean Jackson are both expected to play Sunday against the Washington Football Team. All week we were told that neither injury was expected to be serious and this seems to be the case with both players expected to be able to suit up. Jackson should remain in his normal role Sunday as the Raiders burner and space creating wide receiver. If he is limited, this could mean a few more opportunities for the other Raider's receivers like Bryan Edwards. Jacobs is also expected to be fine bit if he were to be limited Kenyan Drake would likely play a larger role in the backfield with both Jalen Richard and Peyton barber also possibly seeing some snaps.
LVR TE Darren Waller listed doubtful for Sunday; RB Josh Jacobs and WR DeSean Jackson listed questionable
Darren Waller has been listed doubtful for Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team while Josh Jacobs and DeSean Jackson have been listed questionable. With Waller likely out, Foster Moreau is the next man up. Moreau had a successful outing last time Waller was absent catching all 6 of his targets for 60 yards and a touchdown. He will need to be considered in most formats as he comes at a discount and plays in an offense that normally relies on its tight end as its best pass catcher. Jackson’s calf injury is not expected to be significant and he should remain in his normal role Sunday as the Raiders burner and space creating wide receiver. Jacobs injury is also not expected to be serious but if he were to miss or be limited Kenyan Drake would likely lead the backfield with both Jalen Richard and Peyton barber also playing a role. It will be important to check back when inactives are released 90 minutes prior to kickoff to confirm each player's availability.
LVR TE Darren Waller (knee) and WR DeSean Jackson (calf) DNP Thursday
Darren Waller (knee) and WR DeSean Jackson (calf) DNP Thursday ahead of the Raiders matchup with the Washington Football Team. Jackson's calf injury is not expected to be significant and this was likely more of a rest and maintenance day for the veteran wide receiver. He should remain in his normal role Sunday as the Raiders burner and space creating wide receiver.
WR DeSean Jackson to be released by Los Angeles Rams
After being unable to make a trade before the deadline, the Los Angeles Rams will release Desean Jackson. Jackson became unhappy with the team and asked for a trade late last week after his number 3 receiver role was taken by Van Jefferson. It seems as though the situation has become irreconcilable as even with an injury to WR Tutu Atwell and likely more playing time for Jackson, he still does not want to be a part of the Rams organization. Jackson is likely to have multiple suitors who need a burner and it shouldn't take long for him to find a new team. His DFS relevant days are most likely behind him but he could still be a useful addition to a contender trying to make the playoffs.
LAR WR DeSean Jackson (trade request) ruled out Sunday
After falling down in the rotation and clearly being the fourth option, Jackson has worked with the Rams to facilitate a trade and ultimately was ruled out as the Rams prepare to play the Houston Texans. Jackson's snaps had been slipping, and McVay's tendency to play the same personnel was at Jackson's expense. This locks in Van Jefferson as the WR3, behind Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. Those three along with Tyler Higbee will likely play on the majority of snaps, while Tutu Atwell may mix in for a handful of snaps as the WR4. Jefferson may be sneaky, as he may be on the field for a significant chunk of time, and the Rams will likely put up multiple touchdowns against the woeful Texans.
DeSean Jackson 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, DeSean Jackson is expected to be the fantasy WR88. He's being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR90 at pick 200, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 193 as of July. We currently expect a 9% target share which amounts to a projection of 54 targets (Rank 92) and 458 receiving yards (Rank 87) during the 17 week fantasy season.
Pairing Jackson with Stafford sure seems like an ideal fit on paper, but our current projections at RotoGrinders still have Jackson as the fourth man on the depth chart behind Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Van Jefferson. Maybe Stafford and Jackson are able to catch lightning in a bottle (I'm guessing they will connect for at least a couple deep TD's this season), but the reality is that it's hard for me to envision Jackson leaving much of a mark as a fantasy football asset this season. It doesn't help that he is getting drafted right about where we have him projected either.
DeSean Jackson activated from IR, will play Sunday
DeSean Jackson has been activated from IR and will play Sunday. The veteran WR has been out over two months, last playing in Week 7. Even if Jackson's role is more limited than usual, his return should still help Jalen Hurts by giving the Eagles another weapon to draw the attention of the opposing defense.
DeSean Jackson (ankle) out 6-8 weeks
DeSean Jackson just can't seem to stay healthy. Playing for the first time in four weeks, Jackson suffered a high ankle sprain during a punt return Week 7, and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Jackson only played 3 games last season, and at nearly 34 years old, his risk of injury will only continue to increase. Travis Fulgham has taken on a top role in the Eagles' offense, topping 10 targets each of the past three games.
DeSean Jackson (hamstring) will play Thursday night; Alshon Jeffery (foot) remains out
Jackson still hasn't put in a full practice after being limited in Tuesday's session, but head coach Doug Pederson still believes that Jackson will be ready to go for Thursday night's Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants despite still recovering from a hamstring injury that's kept him sidelined for three straight games. Meanwhile, Jeffery is set to be inactive once again and it's beginning to feel like the Eagles are in no rush to have him active on gamedays with the emergence of Travis Fulgham and rookie Jalen Reagor on track to return in one of the next few games. Even though Jackson will likely be active, it's almost guaranteed that he will be eased back into action and won't see a full complement of snaps with Jon Hightower flashing serviceable downfield ability over the last couple of weeks
