Dexter McCluster out for season
McCluster fractured his forearm during a "household incident involving the movement of luggage." He's headed to the non-football injury list, and will miss the rest of the year. San Diego promoted Isaiah Bruce from the practice squad; he's a wide receiver and kick returner. Nothing will really change from a fantasy perspective. Kenneth Farrow will continue to back up Melvin Gordon at running back. Farrow has only rushed the ball 11 times for 43 yards this season, and he hasn't had a game with more than four carries. He hasn't caught a ball all season. McCluster took some passing snaps, so Gordon should pick those back up right away. Gordon will continue to get a heavy workload, he's a virtual lock for more than 20 touches every week.
Chargers signing Dexter McCluster
With the season ending injury to Danny Woodhead, the Chargers (according to sources close to the team) are signing Dexter McCluster to presumably take on some of the passing down work for the Chargers. A little bit of bad news for the Melvin Gordon bandwagon (which has grown much larger this season thanks to an excellent start) but Gordon should be a viable option (especially this week against the Colts) until we actually see McCluster's usage in a game.
Dexter McCluster out on Sunday
McCluster will not play against the Raiders on Sunday, which opens up opportunity for David Cobb to get some work behind Antonio Andrews, who is actually somewhat of a sneaky contrarian play as the Titans lead back. He's been seeing a healthy workload in recent weeks and his salary is still low enough to keep him in play. He'll surely be underowned compared to the other value backs in play this week.
