Dez Bryant Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Dez Bryant tests positive for COVID-19, officially ruled out Tuesday night

Bryant reportedly had an inconclusive test result from his most recent round of COVID-19 testing, and following a rapid test performed during pregame warmups, he's officially been ruled out of Tuesday's Week 13 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys due to a confirmed positive test. This news came well after the Ravens' inactive list was released for tonight's contest, so Bryant is a late scratch from the active roster, which will allow Devin Duvernay and Myles Boykin to step into undisputed top-three wide receiver roles this evening. Duvernay was already set to be a popular option on Tuesday's single-game slates and now becomes an even stronger play in Bryant's absence, but Boykin will be an interesting pivot in tournament formats given the additional opportunities that should be available in the passing game with Bryant, Willie Snead, and Mark Andrews all sidelined for COVID-19 related reasons.

Dez Bryant elevated to the active roster for Sunday

Dez Bryant has been elevated to the active roster for Sunday, one week after being kept inactive on the practice squad. In his debut two weeks ago, Bryant played just two snaps, so expectations should be kept low. It is likely best to assume Bryant won't actively be involved in the offense until we see him get any type of significant run.

Dez Bryant not elevated from practice squad, will not be active Sunday

Dez Bryant not elevated from practice squad, will not be active Sunday.

Mark Ingram inactive Sunday; Dez Bryant and Devin Duvernay both active

As expected, Mark Ingram is inactive Sunday, setting up J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards to handle the RB work. Dobbins was the more effective of the two backs last week, but the workload is still expected to be shared. Dez Bryant and Devin Duvernay are both active, and the WR situation in Baltimore will be tough to predict this week. Bryant is obviously a big name, but it is unlikely the Ravens work him too hard in his first game since 2017.

Dez Bryant elevated from practice squad, expected to play tomorrow.

Dez Bryant has been elevated from the practice squad, meaning he is likely to make his Ravens debut Sunday. This would be Bryant's first game since 2017, and the hype around his return could outpace his production. His exact role remains to be seen, and the Ravens' offense can make it difficult for a WR to consistently produce.

Saints fear Dez Bryant tore his Achilles' tendon during Friday's practice

It appears the Dez Bryant in New Orleans era may have ended as quickly as it began, as the Saints fear Bryant tore his Achilles' tendon during Friday's practice. This would obviously sideline Bryant for the remainder of the season, and be a difficult mountain for the aging receiver to climb as he pursues suiting up again in the NFL.

WR Dez Bryant not expected to play Sunday

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the former Cowboys WR1 has some work left to do for being game-ready, including dropping some weight and mastering the playbook. The Saints will only utilize Michael Thomas and Tre'Quan Smith at wideout on most snaps against a Bengals team missing slot corner Darqueze Dennard.

Dez Bryant Not Likely to Play This Week

Dez Bryant will sign the contract today but this probably won't leave enough preparation to suit up and play this week.

Dez Bryant to the Saints

Saints reached agreement with former Cowboys’ WR Dez Bryant. The workouts looked impressive, according to Shefter's sources. We shall see if Bryant has anything to offer fantasy wise, but this was a top 3 destination for him in terms of fantasy appeal. An accurate passer and a need for a short passing game WR, perhaps Dez will be a slot man in New Orleans

Receiver Remains Focal Point of Offense Against Struggling Pass Defense

Dez Bryant and the rest of the Cowboys offense has been struggling since Ezekiel Elliott was suspended, but they finally showed some life last Thursday in a win over Washington, with Bryant catching 5 of 7 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. Bryant and the Cowboys get another divisional game this week against the struggling New York Giants, who are have allowed more total yards than any other team in the league this season and rank 27th in passing yards per game allowed. Bryant doesn't put up the gaudy receiving numbers he once did, but he still ranks 8th in the league with 109 targets, and at $7,200 on FanDuel and $5,900 on DraftKings, Bryant should be an excellent point-per-dollar play this week.
