Donovan Peoples-Jones Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

CLE WR Michael Woods (illness) returned to practice Thursday.

We have not seen him doing much since he went out in the preseason, but the Browns thought enough of him to keep him through final cuts and on the active roster anyway. His role should be small at first, but it will be interesting to see how high he climbs on a thin depth chart.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones expected to play Sunday

Donovan Peoples-Jones is expected to play Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. DPJ should serve as the number two receiver opposite Jarvis Landry for the Browns tonight. If DPJ were to be limited in any fashion Rashard Higgins as well as the tight ends Austin Hooper, Harrison Bryant, and David Njoku could see a few more targets come their way making them better plays.

CLE WR Anthony Schwartz ruled out for Sunday; WR Donovan Peoples-Jones listed questionable

Anthony Schwartz has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens while Donovan Peoples-Jones has been listed questionable. Schwartz wasn't expected to play a major role this weekend but his absence could mean a few more snaps for Ja'Marcus Bradley and a few more targets for all other members of the Cleveland receiving corps. It seems as though DPJ is trending in the right direction to suit up on Sunday night but if he were unable to play Jarvis Landry would be the unquestioned alpha receiver while Rashard Higgins would move into the secondary role with the tight ends Austin Hooper, Harrison Bryant, and David Njoku also playing a bigger role in the passing game.

CLE WR Jarvis Landry, WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, and WR Anthony Schwartz all DNP Wednesday

Jarvis Landry, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Anthony Schwartz all logged DNPs Wednesday ahead of the Browns game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night. It is early in the week so it is likely this was used as a maintenance day but it is worth noting how many Browns' receivers are banged up (update: HC Stefanski says he feels good about Landry playing this week, less sure about DPJ and Schwartz). It will be important to monitor the practice report throughout the week to see if any value opens up at receiver for the Sunday night showdown slate.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones officially listed inactive Sunday

As expected, Donovan Peoples-Jones has officially been listed inactive Sunday for the Browns matchup with the Detroit Lions. With Donovan People-Jones out the Browns receiving corps will be led by Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins with the tight ends Austin Hooper and David Njoku also expected to play a major role in the passing game. The Browns will likely try to pound the ball on the ground given their depleted receiving corps, injured quarterback, and expected bad weather.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones "has an uphill battle to play" Sunday

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones "has an uphill battle to play" Sunday

CLE WR Anthony Schwartz ruled out for Sunday; WR Donovan Peoples-Jones listed questionable

Anthony Schwartz has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions while Donovan Peoples-Jones has been listed as questionable. Schwartz was not expected to play much of a role on Sunday so his absence shouldn't be too important. If anything, JoJo Natson and/or Ja'Marcus Bradley could see a few extra snaps but still not enough to be DFS relevant. DPJ seems to be trending in the right direction after missing practice Thursday and getting a limited practice in Friday. If he were unable to play however, Rashard Higgins would likely see more snaps and play a larger role in the Cleveland offense.

CLE QB Baker Mayfield and WR Jarvis Landry returned to practice Thursday; WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) not seen practicing

As expected, Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry returned to practice Thursday while Donovan Peoples-Jones was not seen practicing ahead of their matchup with the Detroit Lions this weekend. Baker and Landry were both expected to be sitting out practice yesterday for maintenance reasons and their return today seems to confirm this. It was reported that Donovan Peoples-Jones hurt himself at practice yesterday and his status for this weekend is in question. If he were unable to play, Rashard Higgins and Anthony Schwartz would likely see more snaps and play a larger role in the Cleveland offense. It will be important to check DPJ's status on the official injury report released tomorrow.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones expected to start Sunday

Donovan Peoples-Jones, who has been dealing with a groin injury, is expected to start Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. DPJ is being called upon to fill the role of recently departed OBJ and this will be his first test. DPJ should see a healthy amount of targets in his first game as the number two receiver (not due to injuries) behind Jarvis Landry and is much better value play now at his current salary. He can be considered for DFS purposes but it is also possible that Cleveland will lean on its run game and tight ends rather than their receivers today.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones and TE Harrison Bryant listed questionable for Sunday

Donovan Peoples-Jones and Harrison Bryant have been listed questionable for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Browns could really use both pass-catchers as they are struggling to find available bodies at this point. Peoples-Jones was expected to be the number two receiver behind Jarvis Landry following the release of Odell Beckham. If Peoples-Jones were to miss Rashard Higgins would likely step into this role with Anthony Schwartz also playing a much larger role. Harrison Bryant was a late addition to the injury report and was also expected to play a larger role with the release of OBJ. If he were to be ruled out both Austin Hooper and David Njoku would play a larger role in an offense that relies heavily on its tight ends.
