Doug Martin Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Doug Martin, Seth Roberts, and Jordy Nelson are active today

Doug Martin, Seth Roberts, and Jordy Nelson will suit up today vs The Steelers. As a double-digit home dog in a high total game, it's hard to really like any Raider with the exception of Jared Cook in this matchup. With only an implied team total of 20.5, The Steelers defense should be in play vs what has been a very disappointing offensive unit this season.

Doug Martin (knee) and Seth Roberts (concussion) questionable for Sunday

Martin is officially listed as questionable on the Raiders' injury report for Sunday's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a knee injury, while Seth Roberts remains in the concussion protocol and will need to be cleared before returning to game action. The uncertainty surrounding Martin's availability makes the signing of C.J. Anderson make all that more logical, but with the Raiders presently 11-point home underdogs, Jalen Richard remains the preferred fantasy option of the trio since he's averaged just under six targets per game this season.

RB Doug Martin (knee) "uncertain" for Week 14

Martin's knee injury explains the signing of former Panthers back C.J. Anderson on Tuesday. The Raiders are 11-point underdogs against the Steelers' high-powered offense on Sunday, making Jalen Richard the only mildly appealing option in this backfield, regardless of whether Martin suits up or not.

Doug Martin removed from injury report, will play Sunday

Doug Martin has been removed from the Raiders injury report and will play Sunday against the Ravens. Martin was limited in practice throughout the week due to an ankle issue, but appears to be good to go for his usual workload for Week 12. That said, Martin finds himself in a terrible matchup, where he and the Raiders offense as a whole are expected to struggle greatly playing on the road in Baltimore.

Doug Martin (hip) will play Sunday

Doug Martin (hip) will play Sunday, although he's in for a tough test with the Chargers on deck. Oakland hasn't been able to stay competitive enough to allow for Martin to receive enough work to make him a viable DFS target, and this week isn't expected to be any different. Jalen Richard is the back to target if you are looking at the Oakland side, especially on full-point PPR sites.

Marshawn Lynch (shoulder) one of four Raiders players limited in practice

This is a bit unexpected, as nothing had been reported about a Lynch injury after the running back handled 20 touches on Sunday. It's likely more of a maintenance day for Lynch and more about his status will be known later in the week. Doug Martin would see early-down work with Jalen Richard getting passing downs if Lynch were to miss time.

The Muscle Hamster Gets a new Cage

Former Tampa Bay RB Doug Martin could make a push to be the lead back for his new team, the Oakland Raiders, this season. Martin has showed a “renewed burst” in OTAs. The talent has always been there but Martin has always gotten in his own way during his career. This is a very impactful fantasy spot as the Oakland Raiders project to have a top offensive line in the NFL this season after drafting Kolton Miller in the first round to play alongside stars Donald Penn, Gabe Jackson, Rodney Hudson and Kelechi Osemele. The winner of this depth chart battle could pay huge dividends in season long fantasy as well as DFS.

Doug Martin inactive Monday for violating team rules

Martin won't play against Atlanta due to a violation of team rules, and it's looking like an up-and-down tenure as the Bucs lead back is quickly coming to an end. Peyton Barber will draw the start at RB tonight and now becomes a much stronger value target with Martin completely out of the picture - it was thought that the two would continue sharing work after a relatively split bag in Week 14. Barber is the only piece of the TB backfield worth targeting this evening, although Charles Sims could see a little more work with Martin out of the picture.

Per Adam Schefter, Peyton Barber will start at RB over Doug Martin on Monday

Barber is expected to start at RB on Monday night against the Falcons, per Schefter. In the Bucs last game against Detroit, Barber out-carried Martin 12-to-10 and finished with a YPC nearly twice as high as Martin's (4.8 to 2.6), although Martin did corral the only touchdown between the two. We should again expect Barber to be the most involved of the Tampa Bay backs, but he's likely going to need to rack up some production through the air if he's going to be a notable fantasy producer - Barber had just one target in Week 14 compared to three apiece for both Martin and Charles Sims.

Doug Martin to start Sunday

The return of Doug Martin as a starter for the Buccaneers is not good for DFS players. In addition to Martin being highly unproductive as a back this season, his return makes it harder to find value in the Tampa Bay backfield. With Martin out last week, Peyton Barber out-snapped Jacquizz Rodgers 52-5 and rushed for 102 yards on 23 carries. The addition of Martin to this backfield makes it harder to declare any real value to the three backs, as the Buccaneers are likely to use all three moving forward. On the season Martin is averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
