Duke Johnson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Salvon Ahmed inactive for MNF

Salvon Ahmed is inactive for Monday night's meeting with the Saints, which will leave the backfield primarily to Duke Johnson and Myles Gaskin with Phillip Lindsay also potentially working into the equation. Jordan Scarlett is another active Dolphins HB, but he figures to be more utilized as a special teamer.

MIA RB Duke Johnson elevated from practice squad for Sunday

Duke Johnson has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Johnson is expected to serve as running back depth behind Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, and Patrick Laird. Johnson should not be considered DFS relevant at this time.

Duke Johnson inactive today

Duke Johnson is inactive today, which is good news for David Johnson. With Duke out last week, David handled all 12 of the Texans' non-QB rush attempts. If the Texans end up rushing more, or need to give David Johnson a break, Gregory Howell could see some work.

Duke Johnson and C.J. Prosise ruled out for Sunday

Duke Johnson and C.J. Prosise have been ruled out for Sunday, leaving David Johnson and Gregory Howell as the top two RB options for Houston, with Scottie Phillips the third option.

Brandin Cooks inactive, Keke Coutee active today

Brandin Cooks is officially inactive, while Keke Coutee is active today. The Texans have lost all their WR depth recently, and that means Coutee is in a great position to see an increased workload. Chad Hansen, Duke Johnson and Jordan Akins will also see significant target shares.

Brandin Cooks now reportedly not expected to play today

There have been mixed reports about Brandin Cooks, but Ian Rapoport indicated Cooks will be out today. The Texans' WR situation is a mess, and it is fair to expect the TEs and RBs to factor heavily into the passing game. Keke Coutee and Chad Hansen are the clear top WR options remaining, and Duke Johnson should be active in the passing game. Look for an additional update on Cooks when inactives are released.

Texans activate David Johnson

The Houston Texans have activated David Johnson, setting him up to play for the first time since Week 9. If Johnson is in fact active Sunday, which is now the most likely outcome, he will share RB work with Duke Johnson against the Colts.

Duke Johnson Inactive, Kenny Stills Active Week 3

Duke Johnson is inactive Week 3, meaning David Johnson should handle nearly every RB touch once again. Kenny Stills is active after dealing with a non-COVID illness on Friday. He remains low on the WR depth chart and is unlikely to have a significant role in the offense this week.

Rapoport: Duke Johnson not expected to play; Jerry Jeudy, Kenny Golladay, Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, Kenny Stills all expected to play

Ian Rapoport did his usual early AM news dump, although all of these players' statuses are 'expected', and not confirmed. Inactives will still need to be monitored closely today given the number of high impact players listed as questionable. Duke Johnson is the only player in this group not expected to play, and the Texans promotion of C.J. Prosise to the active roster would seem to confirm this fact. Texans RB usage should be similar to last week, when Duke Johnson was also out. David Johnson was the only RB to get a carry or a target Week 2, and should be the only viable option for Week 3.

Duke Johnson (ankle) and Kenny Stills (illness) listed as questionable for Sunday

Johnson and Stills were limited participants in practice all week and have officially been listed as questionable on the Texans' injury report for Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to their respective ailments. Even if Johnson is cleared to play, he doesn't figure to have much of a role in Houston's offense as it's currently configured since starting running back David Johnson handled every single backfield touch in the Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday afternoon. As for Stills, he appears more likely to be active than Johnson after practicing in the full the past two days, but if he's unable to go for some reason, DeAndre Carter or Keke Coutee would likely assume his snaps as the fourth wide receiver behind Will Fuller IV, Brandin Cooks, and Randall Cobb.
