Value in Music City
The Predators have experienced an extreme number of injuries to their core players and will be without Viktor Arvidsson, Kyle Turris, Filip Forsberg, P.K. Subban, and potentially Austin Watson tonight. This will lead to minutes for unheralded names against the league's worst defense. The lines are still being shuffled, but Colton Sissons and Eeli Tolvanen are the likely beneficiaries tonight. Pay attention to pre-game news to see who's in/out and how the lines are arranged, but having some exposure to Nashville should pay dividends tonight.
Preds Revamp First Line
Due to injuries, the Preds first line looks quite different than usual. Instead of the usual Johansen, Arvidsson, Forsberg line, the Preds will be utilizing Ryan Hartman and Kevin Fiala as the wings surrounding Johansen. The absence of Arvidsson, Forsberg, and Kyle Turris has also opened up ice time for talented prospect Eeli Tolvanen, who is coming off a multi-point game against the Blackhawks. The matchup against a red-hot Buffalo team isn't ideal, but the prices for the Preds makes them appealing options in all formats.
Could this Nashville Predators top prospect be in town for good?
Eeli Tolvanen — the Nashville Predators top prospect — made his season debut over the weekend and put up a goal and an assist playing on the top line with Ryan Johansen and Kevin Fiala. Tonight, he is expected to be on the second line with Calle Jarnkrok and Craig Smith. While this is certainly a downgrade with regards to his linemates, he is still an elite prospect that could help carry this line. They take on the Buffalo Sabres who despite their previous winning streak have an NHL-worst 43.81 CF% over the last three weeks.
This rookie is going to play his second NHL game tonight
Eeli Tolvanen made his NHL debut yesterday playing on the top line with Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson. While there won't be a morning skate today, so be sure to check line rushes in the pre-gam skate, but it is assumed that this line will remain in-tact for tonight. Tolvanen has lit up the KHL this season and terminated his contract to come to the NHL. He is very cheap across the industry and makes for a fantasy salary relief as part of this line stack. His offensive talent is obvious and he hopes to carry that over to the NHL as part of the Predators playoff run this season and moving forward. The Preds are on the tail-end of a back to back and playing in Tampa Bay which is a difficult matchup, but his price and the line he plays on makes for a fine play.
