The more amazing thing is that Cleveland has the second highest implied run line on Friday night (4.99) and most of their bats are cheaper than Detroit. Only Jose Ramirez (149 wRC+, .278 ISO vs RHP since 2017) and Francisco Lindor (106 wRC+, .226 ISO) reach above $4K on either site. , Michael Brantley (126 wRC+, .174 ISO) and Yonder Alonso (136 wRC+, .231 ISO) or Edwin Encarnacion (128 wRC+, .256 ISO) may be considered value plays even if this Cleveland lineup has not entirely gotten it going as a group yet.

He generally keeps the ball on the ground more than 50% of the time and misses enough bats to be useful, though he has struggled with hard contact this season (39.4%). The park enhances a marginal offense (97 wRC+ vs RHP). The Rangers do get Adrian Beltre tonight, but it's important to note that the Rays have called up Jose DeLeon and have him in reserve tonight for a potential long relief outing. The Rangers do have an implied run line of 5.1 runs (second highest on the slate), so there should be some merit to some of those bats and if we're basing it on the starter, Ramirez has held RHBs to a .289 wOBA since last season with LHBs getting to him for a .338 wOBA and 34 Hard%. LHBs Shin-Soo Choo (126 wRC+, .181 ISO vs RHP since 2015), Nomar Mazara (112 wRC+, .191 ISO vs RHP career), Rougned Odor (103 wRC+, .228 ISO vs RHP since 2015) and Joey Gallo (103 wRC+, .296 ISO vs RHP since 2015) would all seem solid plays as the Rays don't really have an arm that can come in and dominate LHBs in long relief.

Erasmo Ramirez has done a fine job (15.6 K-BB%) mostly out of the pen this year. He’s started just one game, almost exactly a month ago, in which he threw 66 pitches. Expect no more than five innings, at best, tonight. This means the Yankees are likely to face a lot of the Tampa Bay bullpen. This is not necessarily a bad thing as the Rays' relievers are middle of the road (4.02 ERA, 3.84 FIP). Former Yankee Chase Whitley (16.9 K%) appears to be the longer outing guy and has held LHBs to a .182 wOBA. The key point is that the Rays will likely be playing for advantageous matchups early in this game. Aaron Judge (178 wRC+, .315 ISO vs RHP) is still a high upside bat, regardless.

Ian Kinsler has taken Felix Hernandez deep four times in 81 PAs, but their history coincides almost entirely with Kinsler's time in Texas, as Statcast has not recorded a single BBE between the two. Mike Napoli has gone yard on Ervin Santana three times (29 PA) with seven extra-base hits in total. Although Statcast has recorded just four BBE in this matchup, the aEV is a lofty 102.1 mph. Among those with at least 10 BBE in head-to-head matchups, only Avisail Garcia (99.1 mph aEV - 15 BBE vs Danny Duffy) and Chris Davis (98 mph aEV - 11 BBE vs Erasmo Ramirez) exceed a 95 mph aEV. Davis has homered twice in those confrontations, while Garcia has somehow turned his efforts into just a single extra-base hit (double).
