NYG WR Kadarius Toney listed questionable for Sunday; RB Gary Brightwell and WR Collin Johnson ruled out

Kadarius Toney has been listed questionable for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, while Gary Brightwell and Collin Johnson have been ruled out. Toney could be slated to make his return and would likely be somewhat limited after dealing with COVID as well as an oblique injury. Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton could play larger roles if this was the case. Johnson and Brightwell both would have served as depth pieces so there absence is not expected to be DFS relevant.

NYG RB Gary Brightwell DNP Wednesday

Gary Brightwell logged a DNP Wednesday ahead of the Giants matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Brightwell is not expected to play a major role in the offense for New York and would only serve as running back depth if he were to be active. The injury report for the Giants is surprisingly clean after many weeks of being rather lengthy. This is in part due to the Giants moving some players to IR as well as players on the COVID not being listed on the report. Kadarius Toney is one of these players that is expected to be activated tomorrow off the COVID list but his status remains in question for this weekend's game due to his hamstring injury.

This is a doozie of an injury report but here we go: Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, and Dante Pettis all listed out for Sunday; Kenny Golladay, John Ross, and Gary Brightwell listed questionable; Kadarius Toney not listed on injury report Despite the length of the report this is actually what we were expecting. With Barkley out Devontae Booker will once again lead the backfield with Elijhaa Penny and Gary Brightwell (questionable) backing him up and is a decent value play. Golladay is expected to make his return this week and should immediately slot back in as the top receiver flanked by Kadarius Toney (with Shepard ruled out) and both can be considered in DFS contests.

NYG RB Gary Brightwell placed on COVID-19 list

Gary Brightwell has been placed on the COVID-19 list ahead of the Giants matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Gary Brightwell joins Saquon Barkley on the COVID list potentially leaving the Giants with Devontae Booker available as the only true running back on the active roster. Both Brightwell and Barkley have yet to be ruled out and would need to test negative twice before Sunday's kickoff to be able to play but the chances of this happening are starting to look slim. Booker would obviously become a much better play due to expected volume and the Giants would likely be forced to elevate Sandro Platzgummer to serve as his backup with Elijhaa Penny also mixing in.
