Greg Ward Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

DeSean Jackson (ankle) out 6-8 weeks

DeSean Jackson just can't seem to stay healthy. Playing for the first time in four weeks, Jackson suffered a high ankle sprain during a punt return Week 7, and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Jackson only played 3 games last season, and at nearly 34 years old, his risk of injury will only continue to increase. Travis Fulgham has taken on a top role in the Eagles' offense, topping 10 targets each of the past three games.

Injury-Related Opportunity

Things just aren't going right on the injury front for the Eagles. They have been down several wide receivers for weeks now. Zach Ertz suffered a fractured rib two weeks ago. Now, Miles Sanders is in doubt for the playoff opener after exiting with an injury in the regular season finale. Boston Scott filled in nicely with a 19/54/3 rushing line in Week 17, and he was also the team's leading receiver. Dallas Goedert and Greg Ward will continue to soak up targets and are also nice options in the passing game. All of these players are DFS options on a short playoff slate.

Nelson Agholor (Knee) Out; J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (Foot) Cleared for Sunday

Agholor has been ruled out for Sunday, while Arcega-Whiteside does not carry an injury designation into the weekend. Arcega-Whiteside should work as the second WR behind Greg Ward.

Nelson Agholor, Jordan Howard Inactive Tonight for Eagles

Agholor is inactive Monday night, leaving the Eagles with just three active WRs. That could open the door for increased 2-TE sets. Jordan Howard has also been ruled out.

Eagles Promote WR Greg Ward from the Practice Squad to the Active Roster

Ward has been called up from the practice squad for the second time in 2019 because of the injuries to the Eagles' wide receivers. Both Alshon Jeffrey and Nelson Agholor are in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Seahawks, but Agholor's status seems more in doubt since he did not practice all week This murky injury situation for the Eagles is definitely one to monitor tomorrow before kickoff.

If Jeffrey and Agholor both can't go, their combined 33% projected share will go to the likes of Mack Hollins, Jordan Matthews, Greg Ward, and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. If one of Jeffrey and Agholor can't play, the other will see a significant boost in opportunity and become excellent cheap options across all sites. Regardless, expect the Eagles to continue to deploy 12 personnel to have Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz on the field simultaneously. Because the Sehawks are beatable through the air - they are 18th in pass DVOA, rank seventh in FPs allowed to TEs, and rank 12th in FPs allowed to WRs - there is potential for some of these Eagles to smash their price tags.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery is Inactive

As expected, Jeffrey will sit. Expect more targets for WRs Nelson Agholor, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Mack Hollins, Greg Ward, and TEs Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert.

Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (Calf) Unlikely to Play, TE Dallas Goedert (Calf) a Game-Time Decision

Jeffrey is not expected to take the field vs. the Lions, while Goedert could end up suiting up. If he does, the second-string TE makes for an interesting GPP target with DeSean Jackson and Jeffrey's targets available for other pass catchers.

WR Nelson Agholor is an elite play in all formats at only $3,600 on DK and $4,800 on FanDuel. WRs JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Mack Hollins, and Greg Ward merit GPP consideration as well, though the passing volume for the Eagles offense is difficult to project for today's matchup.

Eagles Promote WR Greg Ward to Active Roster

WR Greg Ward joins a banged up Eagles receiving corps that already ruled out WR DeSean Jackson vs. the Lions. Ward's addition to the team roster does not bode well for WR Alshon Jeffrey's chances of suiting up, as he did not practice all week and is listed as questionable with a calf injury. TE Dallas Goedert (calf) is questionable too, meaning many Carson Wentz targets could be up for grabs.

WR Nelson Agholor, who won Showdown slates for fantasy players on Sunday night against Atlanta, stepped up when Jackson and Jeffrey exited the game, finishing with eight catches for 107 yards and a score. Min-priced WR Mack Hollins also found his way into some winning lineups with five catches for 50 yards.

Agholor is virtually a cash game lock at only $3,600 on DK and $4,800 on FanDuel, and he is projected to be one of the highest owned players in tournaments as well. The industry is turning to WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside, who played 75 snaps against the Falcons and brought in one of four targets, as a pivot of off the Agholor chalk. Hollins makes for a fine large-field GPP play assuming Jeffrey sits, and Ward should merit similar consideration.
