Guerschon Yabusele Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Punt City
I'm not sure exactly who the Celtics are going to throw out on the court this evening, but it's not going to be pretty. They are going to rest all five of their starters and at least two bench players, so the depth is lacking here. The "best" players that are taking the court are Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown, but I have my doubts about whether they will play full minutes. For what it's worth, though, Rozier basically commented that he's going off tonight. The best spots to look with Boston are likely with the punt values. Wanamaker, Yabusele, Ojeleye, and Williams are all likely looking at 25+ minutes in this game, and they all come with bare minimum price tags. Yabusele is the biggest risk/reward GPP option of the bunch, but all four are in play. Keep an eye out for news throughout the day.
Jaylen Brown, Daniel Theis, and Guerschon Yabusele are expected to play
The Celtics are resting just about everyone tonight, which means boatloads of minutes for the non-regulars who will be taking the court tonight. The most obvious impact is on Terry Rozier, and he has already stated that he plans to get plenty of shots up tonight. Jaylen Brown is available but given his murky injury status leading up to tonight's game he may not receive a full complement of minutes. Theis, Yabusele, and others can be in your plans for roster construction to pair with Rozier for plenty of value.
Yabusele will start tonight; Horford and Rozier are out
Analysis coming soon.
Guerschon Yabusele (knee) ruled out today against Atlanta
Yabusele has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Atlanta. Practically a meaningless game for Boston, they've already ruled out Marcus Morris, and coach Brad Stevens stressed he wants to limit the minutes of his players for the remainder of the regular season.
Marcus Morris ruled out, Yabusele doubtful
Marcus Morris (rest) will not play Sunday against Atlanta. Guerschon Yabusele (left knee soreness) is doubtful.
Al Horford (ankle sprain) ruled out Wednesday; Guerschon Yabusele will start
Horford has officially been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with the Utah Jazz due to a sprained left ankle and he'll join Marcus Morris among the Boston Celtics' recent inactives. The absence of Morris will open up additional playing time for the starters and bench players like Semi Ojeleye and possibly Shane Larkin in small-ball lineup combinations, while Guerschon Yabusele will start at power forward alongside Aron Baynes and should step into an expanded role in the frontcourt without Horford available. The sample size begins to dwindle when taking Horford, Morris, and Kyrie Irving off the court, but Terry Rozier, Jayson Tatum, and Greg Monroe appear to be in the best positions to benefit, as each own at least a +5.7% usage rate differential, while Rozier averages a lofty 1.38 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.34 on FanDuel in this scenario as well.
Jayson Tatum (back) will start Wednesday; Terry Rozier, Marcus Morris, and Guerschon Yabusele also starting
Tatum has officially been cleared to play and will start in Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards after previously being listed as probable on the Boston Celtics' injury report with low back tightness. He'll be joined in the starting lineup by Terry Rozier, Marcus Morris, and Guerschon Yabusele since the Celtics are without Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Daniel Theis, the latter two in danger of missing the remainder of the season, while Brown is slated to miss at least two additional games following tonight's contest. Irving is expected to sit for multiple games to rest a sore left knee and Rozier will be the main beneficiary of his and Smart's absences. There's obviously almost no sample size with all of the aforementioned players off the court this season, but in that limited time, Rozier, Morris, and Tatum all own at least a +11.4% usage rate differential, possibly indicating they may be the top three Celtics to target in all daily fantasy formats this evening.
Guerschon Yabusele (illness) ruled out Tuesday
Yabusele will not play in tonight's season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to an illness. Yabusele was expected to be at the end of the Boston Celtics' rotation so his absence will not affect any one individual player's projected minutes in an overly substantial way. If anything, it may extend Al Horford and backup center Aron Baynes minutes by minimal margins but nothing to get overly excited about if considering rostering either Boston big man on Tuesday's two-game slate.
