Ducks' defenseman looks to stay hot in November
Hampus Lindholm has been asked to shoulder the load for the struggling Ducks as they have been plagued by injury. With Cam Fowler on the shelf, Lindholm's minutes have soared. A week ago, Lindholm logged nearly 31 minutes of ice time as he and Josh Manson form the team's top pairing. Lindholm has two goals already this month and could find another tonight against a Boston team lacking a real identity right now. Hampus Lindholm sports an outstanding 55.70 SCF% at 5v5 and his cheap salary across the industry makes grabbing an extra stud easier. Lean on Lindholm tonight.
Two dirt-cheap defensemen worth a gamble
Outside of Oscar Klefbom in Edmonton, the options from the blue line are few and far between. Both Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen, two young defensemen, are priced down across the industry despite an increased role with the injuries to Cam Fowler and Kevin Bieksa. The matchup with Nashville is not ideal, but they do not need to do much to pay off their dirt-cheap salaries in this rematch from last season's Western Conference Finals.
A bargain price-tag for this blue-liner in his season debut
A shoulder injury kept him sidelined for the first seven games, but Lindholm is finally ready to lace up his skates for tonight's game in Philadelphia. With Cam Fowler now out of action for the forseeable future and Sami Vatanen still on the mend, Randy Carlyle will be leaning on Lindholm heavily right from the opening faceoff. The 2016-17 season was a down year for Lindholm offensively, but the former 6th overall draft pick has shown plenty of offensive upside in the past (15 power-play points in 15-16, for instance). Fowler's absense opens the door for Lindholm to quarterback the Duck's top power-play unit and that makes him very hard to ignore with such a bargain price-tag.
